Review

"
""This is a very welcome and helpful addition to the literature on how to teach students with sensory impairments. It offers specific games and activities that the students can play with their peers and gives creative, practical suggestions for adaptations that can promote maximum participation. It is just what instructors are looking forideas about what to do and how to do it!""
Nancy B. Levack, Curriculum Coordinator
Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired
""This unique and valuable collection of games and activities, developed by innovative practitioners, fills a long-standing need for a book about teaching students with sensory impairments accompanied by multiple disabilities. I recommend this book highly for use in both inclusive and segregated settings.""
Diane H. Craft, PhD
Professor, Department of Physical Education
SUNY Cortland College, NY
""An excellent reference for beginning and experienced teachers, this is one of the few resources that focuses specifically on teaching physical education to deaf-blind and multihandicapped students. The ideas for modifying and adapting activities are presented in a clear, straightforward manner. The suggestions enable the teacher to incorporate a wide range of skill levels while maintaining the integrity of the game.""
Chuck White, EdD
Director of Athletics and Physical Education
South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind

4.0 out of 5 stars Games for people with Sensory Impairments, April 4, 2000

This review is from: Games for People with Sensory Impairments (Paperback)
This book contains a variety of games which can be used by both typically developing and handicapped learners. The games are motivating and fun, and could easily be used in a physicsal education class to make sure every one is fully included. I have a son with a visual impairment and bought the book to give to the gym teacher where he attends school. I am very happy with the book.
