4.0 out of 5 stars Sure it's odd...but I liked it.
It's a weird book, but I like weird. I was cracking up reading the quotes that the other reviewer posted as examples of stupid parts of the book. I think Jack Handy, So I Married An Axe Murderer and The Office are funny. The book needs to be read with odd in mind and it can be thouroughly enjoyed!

The one star is for the cute cover which misled me--thought this might be a fun little gift. Not! Under the section labeled "THINGS NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T USUALLY DO", here are some random excerpts: "Sitting down in the lunchroom and chowing down on your neighbor's foot; using a chain saw to scratch your friend's back; Jump out of an airplane using a parachute made out of wet kleenex tissue; taking your hamster out of the cage so you can blow your nose on it; tying your dog up to a strange truck; bathe your dog in liquid drain cleaner" . . . Need I say more? I won't even donate this. I just tossed it into the round file.

1.0 out of 5 stars right wing racist rant, December 9, 2011
This review is from: How to Make People Think You Are Normal (Truth about Life Humor Books) (Paperback)
I received this book a gift from my father. I was completely shocked at Ben Goode's continuous right wing racist ranting throughout the book, complains about the government, Democrats, liberals, muslims. He tries to pass his racist material under the pretense that your buying a book of humor. It is not funny, not well written and Ben Goode is a bigot. Don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious!, October 21, 2011
This review is from: How to Make People Think You Are Normal (Truth about Life Humor Books) (Paperback)
On a long move my husband and I had to deal with a dead engine in a podunk town and greedy mechanics. The only really worthwhile aspect was that the little diner near our hotel had a rack full of Ben Goode's books. At that particular time we seriously needed to laugh. Unfortunately we were also broke (due to the aforementioned stupid engine and heartless mechanics) so we could only afford one book. There was much debating but we finally settled on this one.

I still read through it any time I need a laugh. ^_^
