About the Author

More About the Author

wireless G is a renowned scholar and cultural anthropologist who enjoys offering harsh and unsolicited judgments to friends, family, and strangers just out of earshot. To temper this petulance, he created the PEOPLE WHO blog, which is dedicated to the clear identification of those people who confound him with their CONTINUED, PERSISTENT EXISTENCE.

Despite his best efforts, PEOPLE WHO became a runaway success, and the next thing you know, there's a freaking book. You should check it out, it's quite a comprehensive volume. There's probably a link to it somewhere on this page.

In addition to his scholarly work on PEOPLE WHO, wireless G has also written for humor sites like Dealbreakers and I Love Charts. He lives in Seattle with his three smartly dressed chihuahuas.

Like eating pistachio's, you can't read just one of these. You'll flip to one and wind up reading the whole book. Who knows why it is so compelling to read about the petty annoyances that plague the life of one frustrated anthropologist, . . . but it is. From the obvious ones that piss us all off, like PEOPLE WHO DON'T TURN ON THEIR LEFT TURN SIGNAL UNTIL AFTER THE LIGHT CHANGES, to many finer observations of the annoying habits OF PEOPLE WHO PISS US OFF . . . you just might come to the conclusion that the number one offender of these rules is ourselves.

I've been a fan of the People Who tumblr since the early days, and it's great to see all the new material in the book. Wireless G aptly skewers the ridiculousness of internet culture and awkward social situations with a candor and directness that will have you laughing as you recognize yourself, your friends & family, and other people you hate. I couldn't put it down. As wireless G instructs, I will be keeping this one on my toilet for years to come.

It's an amusing book, good to leave on the coffee table - especially when guests are over. I wish the People Who people would continue updating their website!

As a long-time fan of the People Who blog, I was lucky enough to get an early copy of this book today. It's hilarious, and draws on the site's same careful eye for annoying people and insight into human behavior. Of course it's just a list of 'types of people,' but each one evoked an eye-roll of recognition and chuckle of judgment as I thumbed through them. As long as you can laugh at yourself, it's a fun read - the sort of book you leave on the toilet for those spare moments when you want to read something for about three minutes.

If you can't laugh at yourself, you're in for a rough ride, as a lot of these 'people whos' will probably call you out and have you feeling defensive. Or if you're an overly positive, optimistic person who takes no pleasure in judging others, this might also not be your bag. For the rest of us, however, it's non-stop yucks, almost all new (I've read everything on the blog) and you get a little more insight into the site's author 'wireless G' via a laugh-out-loud foreword, introduction and epilogue. Anyway, I enjoyed it!

Great for the toilet, piles of paper in windy rooms, or that long commute through heavy traffic, PEOPLE WHO is a book that more than deserves a hearty 3 stars. (Accidentally clicked 5, but am 2 bzy 2 go bck.) Full of all new material, this book is like having a brand new PEOPLE WHO blog in portable form. That makes this collection a MUST-BUY for all of you who finish reading this sentence! Do yourself a favor and PURCHASE THIS "BOOK."
