I love my new People's Choice Guide for Cancun. I had a previous edition and recently received my new 2010 book. It has everything you want to know about Cancun and it travels with me on my frequent trips to "Paradise". It is compiled with information received from many sources, including comments, suggestions, and recommendations from the public. It is not a book written by just one person's opinion, which to me makes it so valuable. This book is a great source of information whether it's your first visit to Cancun or one of many visits...you can always rely on the People's Choice Guide to give you the information you want.

People's Choice Guide Cancun is the best tool for pre-planning and taking along on a Cancun, Mexico vacation. Forget Fodors, Lonely Planet, Moon, Arthur and Pauline Frommer's Cancun because all together combined, they don't have nearly as many Cancun restaurants and hotels covered! PCG Cancun was so handy in that I could be standing in front of any Cancun restaurant or riding by on a bus, look it up, and know if it's going to be worth going to or not. Another huge plus is that it is not written by a couple of ghostwriters, but it actually includes the opinions of real Cancun vacationers. I found the reviews to be honest and forthcoming, and the ratings to be extremely accurate. There were several instances where I listened to the suggestions of what dish to order at specific Cancun restaurants and I was never disappointed. The recommendations were that spot on!

The best way to use the People's Choice Guide Cancun in my opinion is to look up and choose your Cancun hotel or all inclusive resort, in advance of your vacation, from the book or via the People's Choice Guide (.com) website. While in Cancun, I recommend taking it when you are out and about to look up Cancun restaurants and clubs in the Hidden Picks and Establishment Category lists. They can also be found listed in alphabetical order in the section with their info, ratings and reviews. Everything will be there, from the Cancun Hotel Zone to Downtown, I was so impressed with this enormously helpful guidebook, I cannot recommend it enough!

If you are interested in traveling to Cancun, then this is the book you should consult first and then take with you as you explore or revisit the region. In the area of food, everything from the classiest restaurants to ordering a pizza from Domino's is covered. A large percentage of the visiting population will appreciate the content of page 367, which is a listing of the gay/lesbian friendly restaurants and bars.
In terms of shopping, everything from Wal Mart to the most high-end purchases is covered. Issues from medical and dental care to tipping and bribes are also explained. In reading the first 44 pages I learned how Tequila and other distinctive Mexican liquors are made, the quality of vanilla in Mexico, natural digestive aids and how to repel the local insects and sea lice. This was very interesting as I was unaware of a lot of this information.
We are regularly exposed to commercials about fantastic bargains for travel and vacations, but it is clear to me that the best bargain for a Cancun vacation is the purchase of this book. Narrow in width, it would fit in a back pocket or into any kind of small bag.

This is one excellent travel review guide for Cancun! A vast amount of ratings and reviews of Cancun restaurants and Cancun hotels while at the same time easy and convenient to carry. I highly reccommend it for you next vacation there!
