Inclusive China,
This review is from: People's Republic of China (Hardcover)
Kim Dramer's book on China is a pretty complete book on the subject, including history, social and political areas. There are good quality pictures, all labeled in a good way, on its' all glossy pages. Maps are included, historical, (although the placement of the Great Wall could have been included), political geographical also.
So many subjects are covered from why it is considered the Middle Kingdom to its' space program. The problems of China are not overlooked either, the Cultural Revolution, the Three Gorges Dam, the one child policy are all touched upon. The history, geography, the wild animals, the cultural traditions and social, including life today are all well covered. This is a book written on middle school level, but with the number of pictures could be read and discussed at a much younger age, as well as an education for most adults. If you can obtain this book at a reasonable cost it is well worth it. A very few events are dated since the copyright of 2007, but as a resource it is excellent. |
