While my son absolutely adores this book and we've read it at least a hundred times in the past 2 months, he also thankfully doesn't mind when I shorten the story or make up my own words.

The cartoon on NickJR is fantastic. It's colorful, fun, zippy, and I find not annoying to watch repeatedly when we must. However, I found the story here to be disjointed and a bit boring. Some text seems to have little in common with the previous page, and some pages go on too long with irrelevant topics.

However, I have to admit the artwork is exactly like the TV series, the cover is beautiful, and if you get the one with a dust jacket, there is a coloring page on the inside which is cute, but I've put it away to save for now. I could have done without the dizzying red with white polka-dots on inside front and back covers, but the book itself really is lovely. If only the story matched the adorable fun of a true Peppa Pig cartoon.

If your son or daughter really loves Peppa Pig, get it for the gorgeous illustrations and make up your own story as you go along, especially since it's so difficult to find her here in the USA. You can get other better Peppa Pig stories from overseas, but you'll pay and arm and leg for new, so while this one isn't perfect, it really is worth it for Peppa Pig lovers.

My two 2-yr old girls LOVE watching Peppa Pig on you tube. The tv show is adorable. Full of warmth, character and humor. The book, however, is a bland and generic watered-down version. My girls don't mind, because I make up my own story as we go along. Paper quality, like with all chronicle books, is fantastic and $12 for a HC isn't a bad deal, but the story is pretty lame.

I got this for my ten year old brother with autism who ADORES Peppa Pig for Christmas, and even though it's two months after Christmas he STILL wants to read it daily, and loves nothing more than his 'peppa book'. He takes it to school with him and shows it off to his teachers. :)
The only con is that it's a bit long for a little kids book - since i'm normally the one who reads it to him, this would be a bigger con except he loves it so much. :)
Oh, and there's a plus : if you get the copy with a dust jacket, the dust jacket has a coloring page on it's inner side, which my brother loved coloring!
Overall, this product is highly recommended for kids who love the Peppa Pig show, as long as their parents won't mind a bit lengthy family favorite. :D
