5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Grinder for the Best Grind
We have had one of these grinders for over 15 years. It was always the best and easiest to use. Simple to change grind size, easy to fill and the side turn gives excellent leverage when grinding. We broke the top and kept it in place with duct tape - not real pretty. We were so happy to find the same grinder and now have two.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hasn't Aged Well
I started out loving this peppermill, with the one caveat that it did not put out quite as much pepper per grind as I would have liked. The container on the bottom is a great idea. The problem, now that it is a year old or so, is that neither the container on the bottom nor the lid on the top will stay on, so it's turned into an aggravation. My next one will be the Magnum...

The problem, now that it is a year old or so, is that neither the container on the bottom nor the lid on the top will stay on, so it's turned into an aggravation. My next one will be the Magnum Plus by Unicorn, based on a recommendation from a local chef.

Finally a pepper mill that doesnt kill your wrist and holds the ground pepper in a container. This is the greatest pepper mill EVER. I plan to buy half a dozen and give them out as holiday gifts!

5.0 out of 5 stars All it's cracked up to be, September 27, 2007
This review is from: PepperMate Pepper Mill, Black
I am completely satisfied with my PepperMate Peppermill. It does everything it claims to do and does it well. It is very easy to alter the coarseness of your product, it is easily cleaned, and it fits perfectly into an already full cupboard. In my opinion, this product performs exactly as it is supposed to and I am very glad I ordered it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Good grind, poor construction, December 28, 2008
This review is from: PepperMate Pepper Mill, Black
I had been looking for a new grinder and my sister and brother-in-law have had this for several years and just raved about it. My daughter got it for me for X-mas. Great grind but the bottom won't stay on, very poor fit. Don't buy this unless you look it over very carefully first. 1/24/09 UPDATE. Contacted Peppermate and they said to return it and they would replace it. After two weeks I received a new one. Same story, poor fit on the bottom cover, just won't stay on. This is a real aggravation. DO NOT BUY THIS GRINDER.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best pepper mill on the market, April 18, 2006
By
My family has used these pepper mills for over fifteen years. None of us has found one we like better. They store an ample amount of unground pepper, and the cup is great for collecting pepper as you grind it.

I love this mill. Easy to use, and so convenient to catch the pepper in the attached cup. Holds a lot of peppercorns, and has adjustable grind. A must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Mine has been through the Mill., September 14, 2010
This review is from: PepperMate Mills: White Mill
Like many cooks, I own several pepper mills. This one, a gift of fifteen years ago, is still my favorite. It's a true kitchen/cooking mill, easy to grab, easy to clean and not apt to be knocked over. With its removable container on the bottom, it doesn't take long to figure how many half turns yield a teaspoon (or any other amount) of ground pepper. Its wide top prevent prevents fresh peppercorns from tap dancing all over the kitchen when refilling it (see photos). And the coarseness of the mill can be adjusted from fine to coarse (it mills nutmeg effortlessly). Since it's also available in black, one can always have two kinds of pepper, color-coded and at the ready.

This mill's handle has taken a lot of twists but still functions as well as it did on day one; its ceramic grinder has not dulled. As another reviewer noted, the housing no longer holds the clear base-container snugly, but a thick rubber band keeps them joined yet easy to separate (see photos). The white housing on mine has long since mellowed to beige, but I still give this mill five stars! In fact, I am here today to order two more.

Many love this mill but I don't. Adjustments are hard to make and you get pieces of all sizes. The bottom tray is the only good idea.
