I hope you enjoy the romantic suspense series starting with the intriguing novel "Peppermint Creek Inn".
Writing romantic suspense is a fantastic job and I write best in a secluded rustic cottage where aside from avoiding the mosquitoes, an occasional nosy bear traipsing by, crisp autumn mornings or the wretched winter blizzard, you can usually find me plopped down on our creaky wooden dock working furiously on an exciting scene.
In the winter, weather permitting, youll find me on the frozen lake, wrapped snugly in a blanket, sitting on a lawnchair, my bootless feet settled on a piece of driftwood stuffed up against the cheerful hot flames of a crackling small fire (havent burned a hole through the ice - yet. Gone through many socks though). Pen in warm feathered gloves, scribbling notes, sniffing the crisp air deep into my lungs hoping I wont catch pneumonia (laughing).
I also enjoy traveling to the settings I use in my books. In Peppermint Creek Inn the abandoned railway village called Jackfish actually exists in Northern Ontario. Known as a ghost town it is quite an impressive site with deserted homes crumbling apart amidst the saplings. While visiting the spooky yet romantic ghost town the seeds of
Peppermint Creek Inn were lovingly planted into my heart. If youd like to see pictures of Jackfish or get info on upcoming books please visit my website.
Thanks for dropping by, Jan.

This review is from: Peppermint Creek Inn (Paperback)
Lost in the woods of Northern Onterio, the man had only a gun and a note. Without memory of how he received the bullet in his back, his only hope was the words scribbled on the crumpled piece of paper, Peppermint Creek Inn and the one name beneath it. Sara Clarke. As rain obliterates the number also scribbled on the page, 28, he finds his hope likewise dissolving. Still he presses onward. When the man stumbled up to Peppermint Creek Inn, he sees a the prettiest two story Victorian style house. But then he realized that it was also empty, with a broken window letting in the icy rain. When she later arrives with the electricity out, Sara finds not only the broken window, but a dead rat carefully laid out in her kitchen. So when the stranger with a gun in his pocket grabs her, she's prepared to fight for her life. Soon Sara realizes the man without a name is a fugitive. Hearing his words spoken during nightmares, she suspects him to be a criminal. Yet his kind eyes and sexy attractiveness belie the possibly danger, especially when he saves her life. Also, Sara can't help feeling compassion for a man with a gun injury because on another dark, story night a gunshot had changed her life forever. PEPPERMINT CREEK INN is a riveting, tension filled mystery that will have the reader glued to its pages. With surprising depth, twists and curves, Jan Springer creates memorable characters that will have the reader really hoping that they will not only find answers to the past, but also a way to stay together. This extraordinary suspense comes very highly recommended. I only regret it took me six months to get to it on my reading list! And Jan, thank you for sending AS BIG AS THE SKY. If it's half as good as PEPPERMINT CREEK INN, I'm going to enjoy it!
