5.0 out of 5 stars One of the least heard of, but definitely one of the best, July 14, 2006

Ditto 100% to the February 7, 2000, review. I bet our tapes show wear in the same exact place where we rewatched and rewatched and rewatched that wonderful, exhilirating scene. The music, the atmosphere - amazing! The whole movie is a must.

5.0 out of 5 stars Calanda's tambours!, January 29, 2005
This review is from: Peppermint Frappe [VHS] (VHS Tape)

This surrealist film is the most sincere homage given by any other Spanish filmmaker to a master: Luis Buñuel.

This irreverent film seems to be dated in this ages but you must remember the bitter years of the Franco's Spain and suddenly Carlos Saura gave us the Spanish answer to these nuts years. A real divertimento with this special touch of this admirable director.

A cult movie!

5.0 out of 5 stars Peppermint Frappe, February 7, 2000

This movie has one of the all-time best scenes in film history. I have viewed this particular scene at least 30 times and each time I love it even more. The scene could easily stand alone with a 5-star star rating, but it's not necessary because the entire film is well worth watching. It is unique in content and has a tension and tone that keeps you wondering where the film is leading you. I highly recommend it. Great soundtrack, too!
