Another home run,
By Harnz Fernando (Minnesota) - See all my reviews

In the same vein as The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock and Crime Slunk Scene, Buckethead has done it again with another amazing album. From start to finish there isn't a throw out track, with more structured songs, and less experimental noise or noodling. If you want an album to use to get your friends hooked on Buckethead, this is the one.[...]Ta ta!

Buckethead's done it again!,

More streamlined than The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock or Crime Slunk Scene, Pepper's Ghost features the same crisp guitar sound and unmistakable "Buckethead-isms" that makes his music so unique. More structured and with catchier songs, this album is a masterpiece from start to finish and shouldn't disappoint.Don't waste your money on buying this one here, buy it through TDRS Music instead, should be easy to find through Google. And for $15 at that!

If you're already a fan of Buckethead, you don't really need a review to help you decide whether or not to buy this album, as it's...well, it's Buckethead. But, should you want to read a review just to reassure yourself, don't worry, Pepper's Ghost delivers.Well not as emotionally moving as, say, Electric Tears, Songs like "Imprint (Dedicated to Takashi Miike)" are really soulfully played. "Brewer in the Air" is a much livelier song, as well as "Exit 209", and "Bag some Game", although only 56 seconds long, is a classic big B solo, so there are songs on this album for whatever mood you're in. I especially love the song "Callbox". The bucket must have just found all of his past recordings, and slammed them all together. There's Kaleidoscalp, Electric Tears, Monsters & Robots, Enter the Chicken, and a bunch of other album's recognizable sounds in this one song. All in all, it's an amazing album, and you should definitely buy it. And enjoy it!

carpal tunnel slug is the best song ive ever heard in my life. this album just oozes funk and style. to me buckethead ranges from hardcore (cuckoo clocks) to mid range (bansheebot, giant robot) to mellow (electric tears, colma) dont care much for his thrash metal and the mellow stuff is nice but doesnt rock hard enough. but the kind of riffs in this cd put any and all funk bands to shame. freaking amazing work buckethead.

I have six of Bucket Man's CD's. This is the best of the bunch. Nearly perfect instrumental guitar album.

"Peppers Ghost" is a good solid album that belongs in any Bucketfans collection. I would put it in the top 5 of the Buckethead albums I own, at which point it really is hard to pull out an alltime favorite. Another foray into the genius and musicianship of an artist who seems to love his place out of the mainstream. If you are looking for some shred guitar that doesn't follow the accepted licks then Bucket's your man and "Peppers Ghost" is your answer.

Good but not his best,,
This review is from: Peppers Ghost (Audio CD)
I appreciate Buckethead's music, especially when writes he songs with more structure and less fiddling. This album is solid. Buckethead gives a somewhat structured sound with a heavy rock influence. He does throw in nice, mellow filler riffs in some of his bridges but most of this album offers up some great rock riffs. This album is definitely not in the class of Population Override, Electric Tears, or Colma. Though those albums are outside the realm of typical Buckethead shred, they still reside in the Buckethead realm. Those albums to me are, from what I've heard from him, his best work. I've been trying to get a hold of Giant Robot, but $300-500 is a bit much. This is definitely worth a purchase, especially if you are looking for a more riff based Buckethead, minus the fiddling and the shredding.

This is a good cd but not what I expected. I was hoping for more Bluesy where as this is more "Heavy Metalie". However, it is all good and I will be keeping it and listening to it often.
