Great product. Installation was easy. I installed it in a spare distributor and then switched distributors. Wiring was easy enough. Instructions were good. Engine starts much faster. I recommend the conversion and quit messing with foreign poor quality contacts!

I installed the Petronix 1281 in my 1966 T-Bird along with a 40011 Flame Thrower coil. The installation was very simple and I'm very satisfied with the way the products perform. I was able to re-gap the plugs from .035 to .045 which should give me longer plug life.

works great and was easy to install. i noticed the difference right away. the truck ran smoother.

Bought the Pertronix Ignitor for my 66 Ford Bronco with a 289 and WOW...what a difference. Used to be really "cold blooded" and hard to start.

Now it fires right up and seems to run cleaner. Bought the Flamethrower coil to go with it and I am very pleased with the purchase.

Never going back to points again!

so easy to install and relatively inexpensive compared to a new distributor. a no brainer. will definitely use on any points type distributors i come across.

Got an old point fired ignition on your car that needs lots of maintenance and has poor start ups in cold weather or the carb choke sticks and partial floods the spark plugs and you have to remove and clean them all the time or replace , install a pertronix ignition and stop those problems . I have installed many of these and my customers love me . Try one and love yourself for stopping the aggravation on start up and drive ability increases 100% ....

I was using points on my old chevy. I did not want to deal with the hassle of setting points and such. I love the HEI stuff. I did not think I had enough room for one so i bought the Pertronix Ignitor II along with pertronix coil and wires thinking i would gain more power and avoid the hassle of the resttings points.

I was not getting the power that I should have and it began to degrade over time. I thought it was the carb going bad so I rebuilt the carb, reset the plug gap, bought new plugs, reset the timing, checked the cam lobs, the valves, the timing chain, engine compression, coil, wires, recalibrated the pertronix module in the distributor several times in the past 4 years. I was still not happy with the performance, so I checked everthing again and again. I did not really think anything of the pertronix, untill one night I dicided to slap in an old HEI distributor that I had laying around. started right up, reset the plug gap, and got the power I was expecting. I hated driving my chevy, I am falling in love again once the HEI system was put in.

If you are looking for a point replacement with no performance benefits. go right ahead and buy this. I was not happy with this product. I could not even contact support for recommened plug gap or general questions.
