First, it didn't come at all. After a couple weeks, I contacted amazon...it was lost!?!? OK, they ordered me another...without either rod holder in the back like advertised. However, I talked to preception and they sent one for free...ok, but now I have to install it. No big deal, but a bit irritating. Not preceptions fault though. I talked to Amazon and they gave me a very sizeable refund for my trouble. So in the end, my kayak ended up being much cheaper than the very reasonable price...so after some trouble, and a couple weeks, I finally got it.
I got right to work modifying it, adding another rod holder (2 behind seat), added a RAM forward mounted rod holder, added a anchor trolley, removed a one of the carry handles, installed a milk crate with 4 additional rod holders and a light rack on the back. I also installed 4 rod leashes, and a paddle leash. The final touch was practice-golf balls (purchased here on amazon) to plug all the holes except for the ones at my feet (so water could still drain). I use an app to navigate with my phone, and to find fishing location, but plan to put in a depth finder very soon...and perhaps a custom sail? We'll see.
My first outing was to use it for muskie. I didn't catch anything, but the kayak performed brilliantly on the large river. I then used it a bit later for walleye in a lake, and again, nothing caught, but the kayak was great.
I then didn't really get to use it much again until this summer. Now, I feel I can finally give my impressions of it.
First, you CAN stand up in it. Is it easy?Read more ›
Overall, I couldn't beat the price!!
Of course, there are trade-offs with some benefits - the superior tracking makes it a bit of a challenge for quick, sharp turns. But I've learned how to adjust, and the great tracking is most important to me.
I think the Pescador is probably one of the best values available to recreational/fitness kayakers who want a good workout on a modest budget.

Excellent kayak! I bought mine on sale for 449.99 at Academy, after waiting for any retailer to finally put it on sale. At the time, Amazon had it priced as 639. Read morePublished 18 months ago by Gregory Pugliese

I bought this kayak at Academy. Great fishing kayak for the price. Lots of storage and has a perfect spot to attach a milk crate. Comfortable adjustable seat is included. Read morePublished 21 months ago by Mathews
It's the first yak I've owned ,so I can't compare. But I can say it takes virtually no effort to paddle it, and it was quite comfortable for up to several hours.Published 22 months ago by nokidding
I'll make this short and sweet. You can't find a better kayak for under $600 period. This is a rebadged wilderness tarpon 120 that retailed for over $900. Read morePublished 23 months ago by matthew borck
