Book Description

Professor Andrew Hueser enlists his younger brother Peter and four other students in a special project, keeping the school board in the dark as to his true find, alien technology.

Upon assembling the equipment, he expected it opened a doorway to another planet or dimension. He was wrong. When stepping through the Door of Light their bodies are transformed into a ghostlike state.

Adventurous, they set-out to explore Hollywood as if ghosts. What they discovered is horrific. They had opened a Passage into a ghostlike state of existence where Fallen Angels are imprisoned. On the run, they must make it back to the college alive, through the Door of Light and shut-down it to prevent a massive prison break.

Aliens, Angels and Fallen Angels fighting an ongoing Ancient War, their prize humanity caught in the middle and not fully comprehending what is at stake.

From all side it becomes a Mad-Dash for the Door of Light.

Casper Parks has woven a compelling character driven story that is fast-paced and action-packed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Needs editing June 12, 2012

This novel is engaging. The characters are well thought out and draw the reader into their reality. The numerous grammatical errors, errors in word usage, and spelling prevent me from rating it higher. Errors in the written word should never jolt the reader out if the narrative flow.

3.0 out of 5 stars not finished January 22, 2014

Without the rest of the story I'm left again by an author not wanting to finish what they start. I would give this book a good review but grammar, mis-spelled words and cut off words at sentence ends, prevent me. Frustrated!

1.0 out of 5 stars So difficult to read it's not enjoyable October 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I didn't make it through the first chapter of this book. I should have paid more attention to the 3-star and the 2-star reviews.

That's too bad. The 5-star reviews make it sound as though there might be an interesting story in it.

But the English usage in this thing makes it practically unreadable. I can't get into the flow of the story at all when I'm thinking about grammar, sound-alike spelling errors and mangled idioms in every other sentence. I have the impression this author isn't much of a reader.

This book isn't even close to ready for an editor. What it needs first is a good usage-smart spell checking and then a good proofreading. After that, call in an editor.

Save your money and, more importantly, your time.

2.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't get through the first chapter. September 16, 2012

Although the story seemed intriguing, I could not stand to read too far into this book because of the numerous (and egregious) errors in spelling, grammar, and mechanics.

Having known Casper Parks for some years and having had the privilege to read some of his earlier works in-progress, I'm not at all surprised at his ability to key a great piece of literature -but I am greatly impressed. In this special rough-draft edition Perceptional Threshold delivers all of the right elements essential to good enjoyable fiction. Parks' work doesn't present itself as a debut novel, but rather as the efforts of an old hand and authority unique in presenting this fascinating look at the dimensional realities surrounding us in a cosmic forward roll of cause and affect. What part the "Fallen Ones" play in our physical world and to what extent they affect our day-to-day lives is a matter of each reader's personal perception, and I expect that is exactly what the author had in mind when he set this work in motion. I sense a sequel.
