I am not a drum buff. I bought this set for my 2 1/2 year old son so I figured that he would not know any difference between this set and a more expensive one either. I did spend a whole weekend looking at brand-name drum sets at various online stores. I decided on this set because its descriptions sound like a drum set at $500 range. I took a risk and ordered this set. I just finished assembling the drum set--what a pleasant surprise. I can tell you that this drum set is an excellent value. It comes with everything one needs to get started drumming. The quality and craftsmanship exceed all of my expectations--it is just a beautiful drum set; does not look "valued" at all. Although it did not come with detailed assemble instructions, everything is packaged in a good manner making the assembling process a breeze. If you are looking for a beginner drum set, it would be hard to find a set better than this one. I tried.

I bought these as a gift for an adult female first time drummer. They were the perfect starter set. The color was great and it came with everything she needed/wanted. My only complaint was the lack of instructions. There were instuctions enclosed, but for 2 people with no drum experience, they were not very clear. It took us about an hour to put it together. It was no difficult, just not clear. The only difficult piece was understanding how to put together the hi hat. That took the longest. All in all I would recommend this set to a first timer.
