3.0 out of 5 stars Great Looks, Average Quality, July 31, 2011
This review is from: Pere de Temps Men's 3027 Debut Patton Automatic Mechanical WatchStainless Steel with Exhibition Dial (Watch)
This watch looks every bit as elegant as watches costing 5 times the price. The precision movement that this watch attempts to emulate is very close, but not quite up to par with more expensive watches. That is probably to be expected at this price point, as you're buying a watch that "looks" like a much more expensive timepiece. In addition, in spite of an automatic watch winder, this watch loses 2-6 minutes of time per day. Finally, the construction of the watch feels heavy and substantial; it has a large face, and the band is heavily padded. I have had mine for 7 months, and it has yet to "break-in" to my wrist. On the contrary, the fob loop has already broken, and cannot be repaired.

Unfortunately, this watch falls into timepiece purgatory:

If you want to purchase a large, heavy timepiece that looks like a much more expensive watch (from 3 feet away), then this would be one way to do that. You could, however, purchase the same concept for 1/5th of the price.

If you're looking for a well-crafted, long-lasting watch that your next generation will fight over, then you should definitely spend the extra money and buy a proven, reliable timepiece from a reputable dealer who is well versed in the nuances of great watchmakers.
