I have used both workbooks I and II, and have been amazed at the transformation my garden (and I) experienced. As a novice, I didn't fully understand the information "nature" was sharing with me and went on blind faith. Three years later, as a horticultural student, I have the scientific "aha" of understanding the amendments, plant choices, and design I was given. I admit--this is way out there, and yet it makes so much sense. There is no area--no space--that the principles taught here cannot be applied. Gardenig and Life can be easy, and Machaelle shows you just HOW easy it can be!!

This is an absolutely amazing book that allows anyone involved with gardening to create a perfectly balanced garden that is in perfect harmony with nature.

The author describes useing kinesiology which is a type of muscle testing (virtually the same as using a dowsing rod or a handheld pendulum which i prefer) to contact and communicate with various earth intelligences such as Devas and nature spirits.

The gardener essentially puts 100% of his faith into the hands of these nature spirits and allows them to make virtually every single decision involving the design, planning, implementation, maintenance of the entire garden project! Although it sounds insane, it apparently provides a highly balanced and successful garden compared to the typical human dictatorship over nature typically utilized by 21st century gardeners and farmers.

While reading this book i couldn't help but realize early on that this book has very far reaching implications into many various aspects of humanity such as healing for example. It can be used in so many different ways that could be applied to any subject matter with slight modification of the basic techniques.

I plan on using the processes in this book on a new garden project and find out for myself just how effective it really is. Apparently the author has been doing it and perfecting the techniques for the last 30 years successfully!

I especially would recommend this book to anyone interested in contacting any nature intelligences such as devas, nature spirits, faeries, elementals, etc.. It appears to me that this book (possibly unknowingly) bridges a huge gap between the science behind co-creative gardening and the mystical and magical worlds of the faeries.

Believe me, this style of gardening works! My garden has never looked better with less work on my part. An excellent book -- even for the skeptical. Some of it sounds far out -- but I have found it all to be true. Just hang in there with it -- nature is waiting work with you!

I first read about the devas in a Findhorn book quite a few years ago. The transformation of a sandy tract to a lush garden was amazing. This author has taken the idea even further. Definitely worth a read or two. -Linda Fry Kenzle, author of GATHERING

I bought this book to fill in for a lost copy. But now, instead of buying this book, I'd recommend buying the brand new 'Perelandra Garden Workbook' that replaces both this book and the old Garden Workbook II.

Machaelle Small Wright has been working in a co-creative endeavor with Nature since the 1970s. Her study has focused on creating a garden (The Perelandra Garden) in Viriginia that reflects the balance of Nature and the Creative Direction of Humans. She has developed flower essences that are simply amazing. She now teaches, through books and DVDs how to co-create ANYTHING, not just a garden, in a partnership with the balance of Nature, the expansiveness of The White Brotherhood (a name for a group of non-physical spiritual masters such as Jesus, Mohammed, Yogananda, all the Saints, Lao Tsu, etc ...and not some sexist, white-power organization).

Wnen working with nature and the expansive Powers That Be, together with our human will, we can learn to create IN BALANCE, which means, we don't go 'conquering' Nature with no respect for its balance, but we invite It into everything we do and are. This results in creations and a life that is in balance, not only with what we can see NOW, but also in balance with what will BE in the future. The work is magical, and this brief and madly happy review cannot do it full justice.

If you want to work on a project that doesn't involve a physical garden, you can do that too. Machaelle and Nature offer the 'Soil-Less Gardening Companion', a book that tells us how to invite nature into any kind of project...say, making dinner for 20, building a prison, improving your diet, getting through a difficult class with a good grade, planning a city or a wedding cake.

This is one of the few, perhaps only, structured guides to working with nature
intelligences to co-create your gardens of many kinds. The author has written \
numerous books which have stood the test of time- more than 20 years, and are
classic library editions for a unique and growing cultural group - those who
wish to understand a green life, work with the multidimensional aspects of consciousness,
and enjoy life on earth. I have found these principles useful and sound in my
work for over 15 years.
