This review is from: Perelandra Study Guide (Paperback)
I really like this study guide. It has reproducible pages and includes a variety of levels of questioning, from basic comprehension to critical thinking. Vocabulary and other skills are interwoven. It is especially useful for a Christian school teacher as it incorporates many Scripture references (appropriate, since Lewis was a Christian theologian and that is an intrinsic, though sometimes overlooked, part of his fiction). It could be useful to a public school teacher as well since it helps those unfamiliar with Christian themes to understand how Lewis uses them in the novel. No negatives - my only complaint is that the study guide sometimes combines chapters in a different manner than I intend to assign them, so I'll be giving the students sections of the guide for chapters they aren't reading yet. Not a big drawback. |
