About the Author

Jade Kerrion holds B.A. degrees in biology and philosophy from the Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. When not writing or working, she ekes out time for dance and computer games. She resides with her husband and two sons in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

More About the Author

Jade Kerrion developed a loyal reader base with her fan fiction series based on the MMORPG Guild Wars. She was accused of keeping her readers up at night, distracting them from work, housework, homework, and (far worse), from actually playing Guild Wars. And then she wondered why just screw up the time management skills of gamers? Why not aspire to screw everyone else up too?

So here she is, writing books that aspire to keep you from doing anything else useful with your time.

Her debut novel, Perfection Unleashed, spawned the Double Helix series which has won a total of seven science fiction awards, including first place in the Reader Views Literary Awards 2012 and the gold medal in Readers Favorites Awards 2013. She is also the author of Earth-Sim and When the Silence Ends, which placed first and second respectively in the 2013 Royal Palm Literary Awards, Young Adults category.

She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her wonderfully supportive husband and her two young sons, Saint and Angel, (no, those aren't their real names, but they are like saints and angels, except when they're not.)

The story is not without hope for Danyael and I want to read the next book to see what happens.
Continuous action and a cast of memorable characters flesh out a unique plot concept.

In Jade's Amazon bio she jokes about keeping readers distracted with her books. It's so true! As soon as I finished Book One, Perfection Unleashed I wanted to read Book Two, Perfect Betrayal. Kindle makes it easy to do.

I'm a fast reader, but I'm already itching to read this one a second time to savor it instead of rushing to find out what's next to thrill, chill and make me disappointed in mankind while cheering for the hero.

I loved it! The romance was more than just innuendo in this one and that's right up my alley. However, for the sci-fi thriller purists, it's not overt.

Danyael Sabre is a alpha empath, a mutant, human-born or derivative, but regardless, he's not ordinary by anyone's standards. How special is he? No one really knows, not even Danyael. The military is willing to bet his powers could be a great asset and they want to harvest it/him.

How can alpha empath who always puts other's interests ahead of his own personal desires and needs survive when he has no one to help? He's alone and he's expendable.

The friends who once came to his rescue not only turn their backs on him, they actively betray him. Or do they?

The human mercenary, a martial arts mercenary as deadly as she is beautiful is Danyael's love interest until his issues with low self-esteem allow him to push her away. The male clone of one the world's richest families who is Danyael's lifelong friend and protector has had his memory altered. He no longer remembers being Danyael's friend. Only Xin, the cyber-warfare genius cloned from a twelfth century Chinese military general/queen sees the issues more clearly.

If you haven't read Book One, Perfection Unleashed you can pick it up now for 99 cents. However, it may be a limited time offer. Don't miss out! Just check out all of the 5 STAR ratings.

This was a fantastic sequel to the first book. The action and danger is escalated, with Danyael even more mentally and physically damaged by the uncontrollable forces that seek to control or use him. His fight for his personal freedom, so hampered by the judgements and motivations of his friends and enemies, fuels the conflict that is thoughtfully juxtaposed against Danyael's physical copy, Galahad's fight for his own freedom. The tension ratchets higher as the odds continue to stack against Danyael, setting up what I hope to be a great ending to the trilogy.

The beginning of the novel drags a little as the author introduces new sides to Danyael and Zara's relationship. Although the twists and turns of their romance is intriguing, the beginning felt a little repetitive in terms of action. But when "someone" is kidnapped, both the plot and the suspense picks up until it is impossible to put the book down. The author continues to create an intelligent and compelling tale, with complex characters and an intricate plot. The character interactions are especially involved and I think it adds so much to the reality of this world. This is another breath-taking installment of the Double Helix series!

Perfect Betrayal picks up right where Perfection Unleashed ends. It's almost as if the story was one long, continuous tale and Jade just split the story into three nice parts where they have these nice little separations. And let me say that the title speaks for itself. There is plenty of betrayal, almost too many, and at times it was a little difficult to remember who was on whose team and why.

Given that it's been September since I read the first book, I must applaud Jade for writing such memorable characters. There was little backpedaling added, so if you have a short memory, it's best to read this book as soon as possible after reading the first book. However, the important details are brought up here and there throughout the book for Danyael's sake since he lost two days worth of memories.

Every character is fleshed out in great detail and they each have their own reasons to be on Team Danyael or Team Galahad or even to work for their own unique "team." Because it's so easy to feel sympathetic toward Danyael and because he is the main character, I can't help but root for Team Danyael. The guy deserves some sort of happiness and thankfully he finds a little bit (more like a smidgeon) before it gets taken away. With so many people out looking for Danyael and Galahad, there's little time to breathe between all the action. There were a couple of times where I felt like there was almost too much, too fast, and one instance where I questioned a character's loyalty. Though I'm not head-over-heels in love with the book as I was with Perfection Unleashed, I still love Perfect Betrayal. It felt like a "bridge" connecting Book One to Book Three and I'm interested to see where it leads.

The ending leaves the reader wondering: What's going to happen next? With cryptic words left by a pre-cog at the end of the book, I can't help but wonder how everything will play out the end. But I do hope that it at least ends in a happy ending for Danyael.

The author has done it again. I read through this book in one sitting this morning and I can't wait to read the third book now. The main character Danyeal has so much to give yet everyone seems to take their fears out on him. He is a healer of unparallelled ability and yes has the same ability to hurt but refuses to use it. His shields cause most to have terrible reactions to him and just when you think he has one friend the author strips him away too.

While the cruelty to this character is heart wrenching it is also compelling. Jade has made a book that you have to read and makes you want to pick up that third book once you put this one down. Very very talented author deserving more than five stars for sure.
