This review is from: The Perfect Buddha's Head: Maya & Karma from 1969 (Paperback)
Dear Mr. Lojac, Having just completed The Perfect Buddha's Head, there is much, and nothing, more to say. It cannot be said enough that this book transcends genius. It is an act of immeasurable heroism as it achieves the impossible - traversing unspeakable vistas & wastelands of nothing and everything, and all that lies between - while leaving that subtlest of footprint of perfect balance, the impossible task in such a maelstrom - your printed word. As you say: "I cannot live in this world anymore.........there is too much hate. People are too violent. I just can't stay here any more." .........and then you not only stay, you triumph. You left footprints of cognition through even the densest tracks, so that those who love you could follow. Could know you. Could run ahead of you and await you with open arms. Or call out to you "wait up!". And so that we might feel relief in not having to attempt the impossible in documenting such an achingly personal/universal spiritual quest. Nor are we made to feel a failure in such relief as your offering is clearly made in humility. Tingle. Blush. You did the labor for the sensation of self-sovereignty at once magnificent and humble. Thank You. Thank you, for this quintessentially devotional act. An act of sustained ineffable unspeakable devotion. Whatever it cost you, you are also fortunate, for from endurance of just such forces are diamonds made. Whatever shall you write next?!

A work of genius from Anthony Lojac, that's as seamless, multileveled and twisting as a roller coaster.
When it comes to loving or hating this book... well... that's most likely a matter as black and white, and telling as a set of Rorschach ink blots. I loved it! Then again, I just might be mad as a hatter. |
