This is the first in a detective series by this publisher which includes women's/family type themes and issues. A Perfect Child concerns Dr. Peter Martin, a psychiatrist and errant detective who discovers that the deaths of several beautiful and brilliant scholar-athletes at the nation's top universities are linked. He discovers that their genetic material is being harvested in order to create 'perfect' children for wealthy patrons who are otherwise unable to have the 'best' and 'perfect' children that they desire. More than just a fascinating, fast-paced detective story; at its core a love story between and father, son, and a wife, as they discover who they are, and what having a family really means. It also investigates, in an entertaining manner, many of the fertility related technologies which are changing the fundamentals of love, life, and family in our own time.

Since classic detective fiction at its best, apart from providing entertainment, also serves as a mirror for society as the protagonist 'searches' for answers, we at Dominion Press also feel that it is a useful means of considering some of the difficult questions that face families and society today. We feel that Mr. Wilson has been able to achieve this in A Perfect Child. The novel also covers the fascinating technical details of pulling technology from the study of the bottom of the sea, and the deep sea abyssal plains, and describes how that technology could affect mankind. The range of the novel is very wide, fascinating, and illuminating.
