Horrible Game,

I got this game b/c the N64 version was so much fun...whoops. On every level, Perfect Dark GBC absolutely stinks. The controls are sketchy, the sound effects pathetic, and...what else? Everything. The single worst characteristic about this game is the fact that you can't see the enemies in the room with you until it is too late. When you do discover there is an armed guard in the room with you, it is usually b/c he is running towards you with his gun blazing. Bang bang, you're dead. I could go on and on, but let me just sum it up: THIS GAME SUCKS!

The Best Gameboy Game Ever,

Perfect Dark for the Gameboy is the best. It definetly lives up to the N64 version. If you have a transfer pak, it's even better. Using the transfer pak, you can open up cheats in the N64 version such as the cloaking device, hurricane fists, r-tracker/weapons cache which gives you a radar that shows where the weapons are. It also unlocks The all guns in solo cheat. And that's just the half of it. This promises to be the best Gameboy game ever, or at least the year.

Perfect Dark for the GameBoy Color is a prequel to the hit Nintendo 64 shooter of the same name. It is about the Carrington Institute's best agent, Miss Joanna Dark, a heroine who gives Lara Croft a run for her money. Joanna has just finished training, and is sent on her first mission, to spy on the dataDyne Corporation's South American project. This game is supported by GameBoy Color (with full color graphics), and is one of the first games to be a multiplayer deathmatch for the GameBoy console. You can also hook it up with a GameBoy Printer to print out stickers and mission reports. All in all, this game is going to be the best GameBoy game of 2000. Watch out Pokémon, cuz Joanna's coming to GameBoy Color!

A good solid game boy color game,

When I got this game I thought it would be perfect dark shrunk down. It was hard to get used to at first, the training mode was not very forgiving! When I had mastered the basic controls, I was having a lot of fun. Also when you beat a boss or any other special event, you unlock it in the extras mode, where you can play it again. I really think this is a good game once you get used to the controls and it is one of the best game boy color games. If you liked this game, I suggest Metal Gear Solid(game boy color version). Not only is it a fun game, but it has a smaller chracters, which means you can see a lot of places on the map (YES!!!!) unlike perfect dark, you often get shot in the back from offscreen. I would have to say that metal gear solid is even better than perfect dark because it has around 200 training missions and 13 stroy missions. All in all these two games are must-haves for the gameboy color

It ain't perfect, but still decent,

Perfect Dark was one of the few games on the Nintendo 64 worth playing that wasn't designed for little kids, and while the GameBoy version doesn't hold a candle to its N64 cousin, its still pretty decent. Instead of a first-person perspective like in the N64 version, its played with a top-down version and missions and gameplay similar to Metal Gear Solid. However, there are some major glitches. Targeting your enemy is complete hell, and when you have to use stealth is even more hellish because you never know if the enemy can see or hear you. The good qualities are you can hook it up with another GameBoy for some multiplayer action, but most of the game seems unfinished, and could have been done a lot better. overall, its decent, but far from perfect.

This game rules. It is awsome. It is alittle hard at times but that can be bypassed with good controls, graphics, contols and sound. Buy it if you liked the nintendo version.

Perfect Dark on GBC,
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Perfect Dark (Video Game)
Through-out all the GBC games, this is probably the most unique of the bunch. More importantly, this is probably the only one with full voice over. More than once have I completed the game, so I geuss you could call it kind of addicting. So here you go, my review on Perfect Dark.
Story: Joanna Dark, the hero from the #1 smash hit Perfect Dark, for N64 has returned in the prequal on GBC. Saldly, the story hasn't got the same flare as its prodecesser. Through-out her adventure, Joanna will encouter many bosses, many of which require serious skill to take down. The game also offers many game types, such as sniping(my favorite), driving, and all out action. I'll leave it there for now. Graphics: Not the Best on the GBC, but they are quite clean, still there is hardly no color variation. Nothing really special. Sound: The soundtrack is great(what little there is), and yes, the game does feature voice acting, but as unfortunate as it is, they are terrible, blah! Gameplay: As I mentioned earlier, the gameplay is extremly varied and fun, easily the best part of the game. The controls are a bit mushy though. The stealth is pretty cool too. my conclusion is that this is a great game, and you should try it if you the series you should give it a go, but still, you might want a more solid adventure, and in that case, you should try MGS.

This is a decent game but the Nintendo 64 version blows it completely out of the water.I mean I could really use a combat simulator to play when Im stuck in the main game but still there are some great action scenes. The graphics and sound are terrible though.I suggest you skip this one unless youre a die hard Perfect Dark fan.You should get Super Mario Deluxe instead at least that is more fun.

Bypass this one, holmes,
By Keith Taylor (Walkertown, NC United States) - See all my reviews

There is nothing perfect about this game, so that right there is false advertising. Anyway, how fun can a game be that allows you to get shot from an enemy who is shooting you while rushing in from off screen? Sound fun? Well, no, it's not. Gameboy color games are pretty weak across the board...I'd stick to the Advance. Perfect Dark is just [mindless].
