Perfect Days, a perfect play,
By
This review is from: Perfect Days (Nick Hern Books) (Paperback)
This is a contemporary masterpiece which catches beautifully the dilemma facing a thirty-something successful businesswoman who wants to have a child before it is physically too late. Barbara Marshall apparently has it all, except the child she now craves. Perfect Days tackles issues of different kinds of love with wondeful characters like Brendan her gay stylist, Dave her somewhat insensitive ex- husband and a best friend who appears to have found herself a toy-boy. This is a play written with immense warmth, and a number of surprising twists and turns. The easily offended might not approve of some of the language but Perfect Days is joyously funny. A great read and an even better stage play.
