Just The Right Size,

This review is from: Perfect Fit (Hardcover)
Sage Dunbar is at the top of her marketing career and is engaged to her college sweetheart, she is living the life most women dream about. But what a difference a day makes. In one foul swoop her world is shattered when her fiance' depletes her bank accounts and turns her dream into a nightmare.Gabreil Blackwell is handsome, single and successful. As co-owner of a top architectural firm he is a hot commodity in and out of the boardroom. Gabe wants to find a good woman and settle down, but that woman must meet one specific requirement, she must not bring any relationship baggage. Gabe's past dating experiences have left him cautious about sharing his heart. A special construction project brings Sage and Gabe together and sparks are flying almost at their first glance. But neither is ready to trust again so they try to avoid each other. But passion is a very strong emotion and like magnets it makes it almost impossible to stay apart. PERFECT FIT is a wonderful read about learning to trust again with your head and your heart, and as with Ms. Jackson's other works her characters are delightfully human. So if a warm, endearing story is what you want I recommend you try this one on for size. Reviewed by Simone A. Hawks

Mix a Angel with some Spice and what do you get??,

This review is from: Perfect Fit (Hardcover)
Gabe Blackwell is a gorgeous, successful, attentative man who has had his heart broke already. Not looking for love he meets "Sage Dunbar" a beautiful, successful, very engaged, living with fiance, manager of marketing. Fron the beginning this couple is intriguing. When the 2 men in Sage's life totally devastate her, convincing her that men cannot be trusted, the last thing she is looking for is a man or getting involved in any committed relationship. Now that Sage has met Mr. Blackwell and she is publicly disappointed in Erol, the fire is crackling the timbers, but Gabe has already been jilted by a love who could not get over her past and he will not go down that road again, so he is direct and very skeptical of Sage. Now you have Betrayal, distrust, sexual harassment, friendship, conditional love, unconditional love and a story that will keep you turning the pages and anxious for Brenda Jackson to write about Rose and Parnell, cause they have to get together.****Brenda jackson has a smoothe writing style. Her intimate scenes are tasteful & intriguiing. She covers all the basis.****

How Do You Mend A Broken Heart?,
By
This review is from: Perfect Fit (Hardcover)
Perfect Fit is award winning and best selling romance novelist extraordinaire Brenda Jacksons second book in the Perfect series. This romantic tale between Sage Dunbar and Gabe Blackwell deals with issues of trust and how to get on with life and get into another relationship. Sage Dunbar is dealt a double whammy. She is engaged to marry Erol Carlson, her first love and the man with whom she had a five-year relationship. When he depletes her bank accounts without her knowledge on an investment scheme gone badly, Sage calls off their engagement and severs all ties with him. Later, that same day, she sees her father whom she held in the highest regard, at a restaurant with a woman who is not her mother. These two incidents causes Sage to question everything she believes in about love and marriage. To get away from it all and clear her head, she accepts a job transfer many miles away. Gabe Blackwell swore off of relationships and love after his almost fiance dumps him to go back to her former lover. He submerges himself in work and only seeks out female companionship for sexual release. When Sage and Gabe meet in Anchorage, Alaska to work on the Landmark project, Eden, there is electricity between the two of them that can not be denied. But with both of them carrying so much emotional baggage they are unable to see what is so obvious to everyone else. This is the first time in reading one of Ms. Jacksons books that there is a female protagonist that I had a hard time liking. I found Sage to be self righteous, unforgiving and unyielding. Gabe deserves a medal for hanging in there with her. Having a story set in Alaska in itself is unique. I wish more scenery and description of the area and its attractions made their way into the storyline. Alaska is such a beautiful place. Ms. Jackson is the master setting the mood and writing sensuous lovemaking scenes. In this book again she did not disappoint. Brenda Jackson fans will like this one and new readers will become her fans, seeking to find all of her previous works. Jeanette

I rate this book 4 1/2 stars: Gabe Blackwell is a gorgeous, successful, attentative man who has had his heart broke already. Not looking for love he meets "Sage Dunbar: a beautiful, successful, very engaged, living with her fiancee, manager of marketing. When the 2 most important men in Sage's life totally devastate her, convincing her that men cannot be trusted, she meets and gets involved with Mr. Blackwell. Gabe has already been jilted by his love who couln't get over her past, but with Sage the sparks fly. In this story you have betrayal, dis-trust, sexual harassment, friendship, conditional love, unconditional love and lessons that life is not what you thought it should be and love is about ups and downs, be it romantic love, family love, friendship love. From the very beginning Gabe & Sage are intriguiing. I rated this story 4 1/2 stars because in some cases it is kind of predictable. Brenda Jackson has a smoothe writing style. Her intimate scenes are very tasteful and intriguiing, she definitely covers the basis. If you haven't added this book to your reading list, please do. It is very good. A Tear Jerker WIth Bible Quotes that Make You Think....,
By TLW "Book Lover" (Mobile, Alabama) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Perfect Fit (Paperback)
382 pages of pure deep writing... I have read at least a dozen of BJ books, and this by far was the best!
Everything happens for reason; and this story will show you that bad things will happen; to put you in a place to make good of your life! Brenda really hits home with making you feel what the characters are feeling. You would think that the summary on the back of the book gives it away, but the plot thickens as you read into the lives of Sage and Gabe. Never have I reflected on my own life as much as I did with this novel bc BJ inlcudes quotes from the bible that lend themselves to the situations that not only Sage and Gabe face but also us as real humans. It almost seems as if it was based on a true story. The meaningful relationship that Sage has with her parents and her friend Rose is close and by far her main support system as in my own life my parents and friends are the same. I did find it hard to beleive that Sage was as niave as she was about sex, and putting her fiance's name on her banking accounts, while all the while she was being constantly complimented on how mature she was in her field of work; but her character proves true by the end of the story when she comes to her senses. The novel takes you through about 9 months of her love life and shows how she matures and grows through forgivenss. She leans on God's words and prayers and guidance from her parents and friends and even Gabe's past expereinces to get through her challenges with trust, love, and pains. I also found this book to be different because the setting was based in Alaska, a place I've always wanted to visit. BJ does a good job detailing the weather, the places Sage and Gabe went. I wish she had described more of the city though... I think Sage handled herself very well considering what Erol did to her, and I was proud of her for making the quick moves that she did. I was surprised BJ didnt mention her taking his name off her account immeditely, or rather closing it. And it was also surprising that she opted to transfer to Alaska without much thought. That was a big move from NC, but it proved to be the best move! Meeting Gabe changed her life in ways she never thought of. Not only did he help her to realize that love prevails all things, he showed her that ALL MEN are not jerks, along with some hot sexy love scenes. I've never had a man to swell my lips Mrs. BJ...whoa! Gabe also learned that true love from a womans heart can heal all wounds if given the chance. I've yet to read a book by Brenda Jackson that depicts main characters that are in the "middle class", not being rich.Although reading about the wealthy is a fantasy that I enjoy, I would like to see Brenda take us on a more realistic ride. Meanwhile I would definetly reccommend this novel to anyone who is looking for an inspirational endearing love story.I read the book in 3 days! Thank you Brenda for your talent in writing. When I get paid I'm going to pamper myself with vanilla candles, jazz, and a bubble bath to another one of your good books.

Oh Well...,

I really like Brenda Jackson. She's a great writer, but this book, Perfect Fit, is a little too slow for my taste. I not feeling neither Gabe Blackwell nor Sage Dunbar. There character isn't well defined for me to have a visual in my minds eyes. It's an ok read if you're looking for something to pass the time, but I don't feel any heat as I have in the other books I've read by Ms. Jackson. Usually, I can finish reading her books in a weeks time, sometimes, over the weekend, but it's taking me too long to even finish this book. Just because I'm not feeling this book, it may be a "Perfect Fit" for you.

Very good read,
This review is from: Perfect Fit (Kindle Edition)
I thought this was a very good read. I actually liked how Gabe and Sage developed a relationship becoming friends first and getting to know each other. It was actually better than I thought it was going to be. I was happy that her mom really put things in perspective for her concerning her father. I really enjoyed it. It made me want to go and see Alaska!
