The mechanism for putting them on and off is a little rough, and some last longer than others.

Like others have said, what you will get is not what is pictured. The buttons in the picture work great and were made much better. I bought some years ago and loved them. Through the years they get lost or broken so off to get new ones. Could not find in store so ordered these. What shows up are plastic tie tacks. Gone are the metal buttons with a nice finish. Replaced by light weight plastic. The clasp and pin are the only metal parts. The distance between clasp and back of crappy button has also increased. This means they stick you more and I expect them to break soon. Very miss leading since picture is of older model that was awesome. Amazon should remove.

I find my pants, jeans, to stretch out in the waste, if you already put the Perfect fit instant button on your pants, you are ready at any time to have your waist snug in an instant. LOVE THESES BUTTONS-once on I just leave them on--so I bought plenty. Some people had a problem with getting the buttons to release from the pin--so did I, but once I started using, I just got the hang of it---and like I said, once I put them on I just leave them on. Hey ladies, some times in the month our waste line goes up and then back down, you could not ask for a better solution for a pair of jeans to fit you snug and then again not so snug. Hey you ate to much, just move your your button back to your regular button on your pants. I am so happy to have found these on Amozon, because after buying these when they first came out, and then I could noy find again, found on Amozon saved my life.

I wear khakis all the time. I buy good brands but over time the buttons always fall off. I have like 4 pairs in my closet that are living without buttons. I can still wear them with a belt but they don't look that great unless they are held together with a button. After researching products like the buttoneer and knowing better than to sew my own buttons on I decided to give these a try. They took about a week to arrive, and they are pretty decent quality. I noticed the other reviewers had trouble getting the backing off. There is a trick to getting the back off of them that is not listed in the very simple useless instructions that are with them. The end of the back slides out a little releasing the button from the pin and you have to aggressevly twist it to get it off. It wasn't too easy but it does give me confidence that my buttons won't come off my pants. I put them on a pair of khakis and they worked great. The pants buttoned right up, however there is a flaw in the design. The back of it petrudes out pretty far, so if your overweight or don't tuck in your shirt the back of it might irritate your skin. It doesn't bother me so much but I wanted to write a review that anyone could relate to. These work great for me and will continue to use them. I do not know how well these would work to add or subtract inches from a pair of pants or jeans.

The buttons are very nice to increase or decrease a waist size. Also I liked the colors variations to match the materials.

Two small problems. (1) The connecting tabs are hard to remove. I needed a pair of pliers on one set. And (2), unless wearing a heavy undergarment, the tabs are somewhat sharp and irritate the tummy. I find I need to roll the waist when it gets too bad.

I would buy again or recommend to others but would include the above.

If you are looking for buttons for a shirt of jacket this product may work for you. I used the button for my work pants and the back clip would unbuckle and the button would fall off. They need to develop a button that once it snaps into place it stays put!!

I'm a guy, and I don't feel like sewing. I'll set the pants aside and never remember to dig out a needle and thread. So I use these as a permanent fix any time I lose a button. I also keep them in my briefcase at all times in case I lose a button during the work day.

I gained some weight last year and some of my pants got tight, so I was able to pop one of these on and loosen them up. The pants a little harder to zip up and you have to be sure to zip them all the way, or the zipper will slide down. But this isn't a major problem. As long as you're wearing a belt or a long enough shirt, no one can tell there are two buttons on your pants.

Some people are confused about how to remove them. There's a spike on the back of the button, and a little metal nub that fits on it, like an ear ring. The metal nub actually has 2 parts, and you must pull them apart to release it. I also find that pulling it apart makes it easier to attach.

The downside is the metal nub can dig into your skin. It's not bad if your shirt is tucked in, or you keep your underwear even with the pants. And a couple of these gotten bent to where the spike is at an angle, but they still work. I send them through the washer all the time and haven't lost one yet.

I have the same complaints as some of the other reviews, the main one being that the inside part of the button sticks out quite a bit. It's ok at first but eventually you will notice it sticking into your waist.

This is one of the older as seen on TV products. It is hard to know if these types of products are really going to work. I recently bought these as a replacement for my old set. I love these little extra buttons. I use them daily to make my loose fitting pants a little tighter. You can get up to an inch to make smaller. I have never used to get extra inches but it would probably depend on the amount of material that is left to the left of button.
