4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Pushup Travel-Not bad at all
Just like its larger sibling, the Perfect Pushup, the Perfect Pushup Travel is intended to intensify your pushup routine, and assist in the targeting of additional muscles during said routine. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not in good built quality
I owned both versions of pushup. I love the original one. However, the travel version was not that great. The built quality was bad and priced well too high. One bottom of my travel pushup fell apart after 4 days usage. I received a replacement after 7 weeks. Poor customer support process. I don't recommend to buy the travel version. Just like its larger sibling, the Perfect Pushup, the Perfect Pushup Travel is intended to intensify your pushup routine, and assist in the targeting of additional muscles during said routine. The device also prevents wear and tear on your wrist muscles by allowing the hands to rotate during a pushup (in the same fashion one would during a punch, or proper dumbbell press).

Now, compared to the Perfect Pushup (standard version), the Travel version is indeed compact and folds up neatly into a neoprene bag the size of a hardcover novel; fits perfectly into the accessory pocket on my laptop bag. It does what the standard version does but not quite as well. The standard version is made of metal, and has handles that are farther from the ground. This means the standard version gives you a slightly tougher workout (only slightly so) due to the extended range of motion available, and it spins a bit easier for the same reason. That said, the travel version does get the job done and is better than anything else on the market for its purpose. It's got a top notch build quality (though not all metal) and works as intended.

If you are fit and do pushups regularly you should still be able to keep to within 5-10 of your normal pushup numbers at first, but you will definitely feel a new and serious burn in your chest and triceps. Over time your pushup numbers without the device will increase as well.

While I like the standard version a bit better, I end up using the travel version alot more and am very satisfied with its performance. I would definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product and Easy to Use!, January 18, 2008

I recently bought the standard version Perfect Pushup and love them. I travel nearly every week and usually do pushups in my hotel rooms, as most fitness centers in hotels are a joke. I bought the Perfect Pushup Travel this week during my travels and have used them two or three times and I am very impressed. Design and quality are quite good. I too was worried about stability and handling of my size and weight as I am 6'5" and weigh in at 270lbs...No Problems! The only issue I have encountered is with the hotel carpet being really plush as the rotation is hindered slightly, but not enough to stop movement. Overall, I give these an A+.

This is such an excellent design. It's compact and easily transportable with the base laying flat together and the handles snapping into the sides. It really should make Popular Mechanics Best Products of 2007 list. I'm over 240lbs and these plastic handles hold my weight and effort with no problem. I'd give it 5 Stars but I want to leave room for improvement like releasing this model in Aluminium, Titanium or Carbon Fiber. As is, they take up little room and weight in my travel bag/backpack/messenger bags and the design is easy on my wrists.

5.0 out of 5 stars Much Better Than I Expected, January 9, 2008

I've used the Perfect Pushup for awhile, and it happens to be an exceptional piece of exercise equipment. It does give a great chest workout, and I would recommend it to anyone with rotator cuff problems or subluxation issues, as it really strengthens your supporting muscles.

The travel edition is great! I thought it looked cheap in the photos but it's excellent quality! It looks chinsy in the pictures but it's MUCH nicer--it feels solid and well made, and should hold up to years of abuse. It's a little expensive, but I think it's fairly well justified.

...the price is a little steep at $60. The quality is good, but doesn't feel as sturdy as its original, non-portable version, which is also only $40 or less. I'm a personal trainer, and I've been using it with my clients and agree that it is a good product. If you don't travel much, I recommend that you get the original version.

4.0 out of 5 stars So Far So Good, January 17, 2008
This review is from: Perfect Pushup Mobile Unit (Sports)
My neighbor has the original perfect pushup which inspired me to check it out for my self. I saw there was a portable/travel version which interested me because it neatly collapses into one compact piece for easy storage as well as portability. I was concerned that the snap in connector between the handle and the base would be strong enough to take my weight while exercising and ......no problem. In general the perfect push up is well designed and makes push up more challenging. Good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick Video Demo - Brilliant Design, October 14, 2009

This review is from: Perfect Pushup Mobile Unit (Sports)
Length:: 0:26 Mins

I currently own the normal Perfect Pushup. I have become addicted to the morning pushup routine.

I used to take them on my business travels, but as you can imagine, they ate up a lot of my luggage space.
This new travel kit is amazing.

I wouldn't recommend buying these for everyday use. I would still recommend using the originals.
I think the original design is a little more durable and sturdy.
Not that these are flimsy, but they are made to come apart.

I figured I would make a short video to show how really small they are when "folded" up.
They fit in my pocket.

Plus, the video will show how ingenious the design is. The handles actually lock the bases together when not in use.
The engineer that designed these is brilliant.

Well made product, sturdy, much better workout than regular pushups and easier on the wrists at the same time. A bit pricey but seem to get what you pay'd for.
