This movie perfectly exemplifies what the Disney brand used to stand for before Michael Eisner started leading Disney into its present controversial direction: a quality family movie with a heartwarming, redemptive, and educational story; the kind of movie that families used to trust Disney to make consistently. The numerous excerpts of classical music, from Handel's "Messiah" to Haydn's "The Creation," are presented in a very entertaining and lighthearted manner. They are thus an excellent tool to teach younger children about this style of music in a way that's not stuffy or pretentious. My own early introduction to opera and classical music was through the vintage Bugs Bunny cartoons, like "Rabbit of Seville" and "What's Opera, Doc." This movie can serve much the same function for introducing children to oratorios and lieder. In the process, they will also receive a wonderful morality tale about looking beyond our outer differences to the person that's inside.

I taped this movie off the Disney Channel when I was about 7. I watched it so many times that the tape wore out. A couple of years ago when I saw it was re-released I was thrilled. It is a really great family movie that teaches the importance of accepting other people's cultures.

This title should be in the directory under the Disney and family genres. Currently, there is another video with the same title from 1995 listed that is actually a classical music video. This movie I highly recommend. Great Disney film.

This is a wonderful film about friendship and accepting others whom are different. Every family should have a copy of this film in their home! Wonderful performances, and some great music too! Highly Reccommended. Buy it!

I haven't seen this movie in years, and I've been looking for it forever!! This is a great movie to teach children about racism... and it also has a wonderful soundtrack if you like to listen to all boy choirs. I highly recomend it to anyone who enjoys Disney films!!

This is the best movie disney has ever made. I love this story because it involves music and love. This is powerful story.

Believe it or not I starred in this movie. It was filmed on location at Berry College in Rome Georgia and featured the Rome Boys Club Choir which I was a member of at the time. This was the most fun i've ever had and actually starring in a movie was the thrill of a lifetime. This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen and I highly recommend it.

I love this movie. I have watched this movie at least 50 times. It is in my opinion one of Walt Disney's best. I cried the first time I saw this movie when Taylor and Landy walk up the aisle and shake hands and then Landy goes up and sings.This is a must see for everyone!!!

I saw this movie on the Disney Channel in the 1980s. It's about two boys overcoming racial barriers during the 1950s. Both boys bond over a love of music.

You have absolutely no idea how long this has been nagging at me, trying to remember what the title was so I could finally track it down. LOVE IT!
