Book Description

It’s no mystery why veterinarian Callie Webber is having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit. When the residents of her small hometown aren’t pitying her because of her ex-husband’s very public departure, they’re attempting to hook her up with a man…any man. Fed up with being everyone’s favorite charity case, Callie considers closing her animal clinic and moving to the big city. But, before she goes, she decides to give herself a Christmas treat to remember: a romantic holiday fling. And who better to have a fling with than the gorgeous newcomer who is turning heads around Maplesville?

When injured Navy pilot Stefan Sutherland reluctantly rescues a gutter cat for the sake of his five-year-old nephew, he never imagined it would lead to him discovering Maplesville’s most fascinating attraction…its smoking hot vet. Getting involved with a woman was the last thing Stefan anticipated when he agreed to care for his nephew during his Army nurse sister’s deployment, but if he’s going to spend the holidays in this sleepy Southern town, why not make the most of it with the perfect holiday fling.

This is a novella of approximately 28,000 words.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT December 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I LOVED this story. I cannot imagine anyone not loving it. The hero was to die for. What a guy!! I loved him. I didn't find the story repetitive at all. I am wondering if the negative review I read is for the same book! Course, different strokes for different folks.

He is a Navy pilot staying with his sister's son while she is deployed. That happens!! He is sort of learning as he goes on how to take care of a 5 year old that has just lost his father to an accident, and then his mother is called up to deploy. However, he finds a stray cat, hurt and in need of care. They rush it to the local Vet's office and meet the lady vet.

The story takes off from there. One scene, where the hero visits the vet's office for the second time was so funny I am still laughing out loud. I love this guy!! I really enjoyed this story, duh?? It was great and I am still smiling. I highly recommend it if you would like a feel good romance story with just enough sex to make you swoon. Great story.

4.0 out of 5 stars great holiday read December 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Now here we have a sweet, sexy, eye watering, heart pounding romance! Take a man about to lose his military career, his nephew who's father died and mom is over seas in afghanistan and an orphaned cat. Throw them together with a sexy vet and the holidays, and it makes it all this amazing book! I really loved it. It was sweet, not too predictible, no drama, just fun, sweet, sexiness and some holiday cheer!

1.0 out of 5 stars Missing sentences December 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book has the beginnings of a good story. Unfortunately sentences maybe even paragraphs or whole pages of text are missing. I am disappointed by this. Hopefully this review will get the problem fixed because I would like to read the whole story as the author intended.

2.0 out of 5 stars RomanceBookLover January 5, 2013

This book is a novella; and like most its expected to be engaging. This book was not at all, each chapter was a repeat of the former chapter with the main character having the same mental conversation in her mind. It would have been nice to see an added scene of interaction between the uncle, child, and the vet. And how about more dates with the vet before the awkward love scene. I am a fan of this author but compared to her other work, such as the Saber Series, she has missed the mark on this one.
