—Dr. Mehmet Oz, the co-author of the You series of books
"Greene is a fertility specialist, reproductive endocrinologist, obstetrician, gynecologist and hormone researcher, so his patients struggling with infertility, he says, are often surprised when, instead of suggesting state-of-the-art, expensive fertility treatments, he advocates changes in diet and lifestyle. Greene offers plenty of case studies to prove that his plan can work where assisted reproductive technologies fail. He believes that, in many cases, unexplained infertility is caused by imbalanced hormones. Improper diet, lack of exercise and stress can cause the body's hormones to go out of whack. With a dietary overhaul (drastically reduce animal products and go organic for starters), prenatal supplements and the addition of yoga or other stress reducers, Greene has been able to make many couples' dreams of having a baby come true. Greene points out that many other factors can affect fertility (exposure to extreme heat, toxic chemicals or bike riding on a hard seat, for example) and offers tips to improve your chances of conceiving. This book is a must-read for couples having difficulty getting pregnant."

You don't know this, but my husband and I had a lot of trouble getting pregnant; then I lost some weight and had a summer off work and stopped thinking about it and surprise! I found myself pregnant. Assuming it was a fluke we really didn't think that we would get pregnant a 2nd time, yet 5 months later we were pregnant again. I was looking for some explanation of why all of a sudden my body started *working the right way* when I met Laurie Tarkan, the co-author of this book.
After reading Perfect Hormone Balance for Fertility I now understand a lot more of what my body was doing when I conceived and why I felt so much healthier. I feel like this is a book I can recommend to any couple experiencing infertility. What's great about the book is that it's packed with science, but written in a way that is not overly technical. I can't stand books that are either so technical I feel like I need a dictionary and an encyclopedia on hand just to understand one thing; or the contrast, when I'm given information on a level that is appropriate for an elementary school child--this book strikes the perfect balance (no pun intended!). This is one of those books you can pick up and look at if you have 5 minutes or if you have 3 hours--and it's laid out in a user friendly way as well.
Perfect Hormone Balance for Fertility is up on the latest research and really embraces so many current trends: eating organic, eating healthy, reducing exposure to toxins/bio-mutagens, reducing stress, increasing activity, and positive sleep habits. The book has received rave reviews from a number of leading authors and researches, including Dr.Read more ›
After my D&C, my doctor said that it would take around six months for my endometrial lining to thicken up enough to sustain a pregnancy. I needed to feel like I was in control of something and I was desperate for any kind of solution. I bought this book for my Kindle and read it in two days. I followed every recommendation Dr. Greene gave. I started doing yoga for fertility with Restoring Fertility by Drs. Brandon Horn, PhD, LAc (FABORM) and Wendy Yu PhD(c), LAc (FABORM) and I started eating organic and only making meals from Cooking to Conceive: Fertility-Boosting Foods & Recipes to Help You Get Pregnant.
Within three months after my D&C, I was pregnant again. I'm now 8 months.Read more ›
Having a family of my own has always been a dream of mine and this book has completely opened my eyes! This book offers practical and healthy ways for women to achieve pregnancy. It contains valuable information about exercise and nutrition that I haven't given a second thought to. The author talks about hormone issues that not only affects fertility but also how it affects people's everyday life such as migraines.
The author debunks some of the myths and misconceptions associated with fertility, and gives the readers an insider view on important aspects related to fertility. This is not only a good tool for people considering starting a family of their own, but a great resource for people who just want to live a healthier life. This is a must read for anyone who wants to start a family or is even thinking about starting a family!!! It certainly opened my eyes!!!

This looked fine on my Kindle Keyboard. I was looking for a book focused on hormones and how to balance them, particularly through non-prescription modifications. Read morePublished 23 months ago by ElevenAndUp

This book is fine. It's easily summarized and contained no surprises. Worth reading but not worth buying new.Published on February 3, 2010 by E. Holmes
Not much new in this book; just your general recommendations to reduce stress and lead a balanced lifestyle. That about sums it up. Wouldn't recommend.Published on October 2, 2009 by PGinSJ
