Book Description

(Previously published as The Italian's Perfect Lover.)

Falling for the perfectly handsome Alessandro Cavour, Count di Montecorvio
Rovella, is the last thing archaeologist Emily Carlyle needs as she
recovers from the physical and emotional scars inflicted by an
ex-boyfriend. But she can't avoid him when she finds out he owns the
estate where she's discovered an ancient Roman site.

Restoring one particular mosaic on the site has become an obsession with Emily -
one which Alessandro can't understand. He has no interest in digging up
the past because, despite appearances, he bears his own scars. Consumed
by guilt over the death of his wife and son, commitment-shy Alessandro
lives only for the pleasures of the present. But he hadn't reckoned on
falling in love. And love, he discovers, forces difficult choices...

4.0 out of 5 stars The Italian's Perfect Lover November 5, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a crackling good book - and I'm not being influenced by all those fireworks exploding outside as I write this. Diana Fraser takes us to Italy, to an archaeological dig, with a strong heroine and a darkly intense hero. The almost-constant dialogue is sharp and funny and dramatic. Her writing style is fluid and emotional. Her settings are entirely believable. It's a very nice read indeed. Better by far than many traditionally-published romances I've read. I have to wonder if she's a 'real' author writing under an assumed name. There's nothing amateur about The Italian's Perfect Lover. It's polished and very enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Italian's Perfect Lover December 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Dark, Dramatic and Dynamite! I read this book in one day - it was a emotional and compelling read and completely impossible to put down. Lush descriptions that drew you into the story world and well-drawn characters with a believable and heart-wrenching conflict keeping them apart. Diana Fraser has a unique and lush voice and I'm adding her to my `keepers' shelf.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dont. Just dont. March 14, 2013
By Jenn
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I never write reviews for books. I however do pick books to read atleast 20% based on the reviews I read. So, to return the favor of many... please dont read this book. I hate to say it but this was not worth even the free download. I couldnt understand what was wrong with the characters. They were so irritating. The female lead was so annoying with her constant insecurities even though it is said that she had overcome them and these insecurities make her get angry with the male lead so many times! The male lead is rather silly himself. He has money, we get that but he has no class whatsoever. He takes her and buys her clothes and now she is dressed to fit in to his world. I kept hoping in very page that "May be the author had a bad day when she wrote this part" but no, I didnt get a change at all. The story had a good plot. Two hurt souls need to find eachother. Great. Please make it work! I'm no author but I definitely dont think this book is a good read. The story felt like loose unbaked cake. It needs more work and a lot of editing. The dialogues could definitely use some help. Well, I've said more than I intended to. End.

4.0 out of 5 stars Touching Love Story! February 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story is a great reminder if the power of live to conquer all. Emily, with all her insecurities, is an example of a strong woman with fear in her past. Alex is a charming but flawed man with more to give than he admits. Together they make this story sizzle.
