Book Description

Prail Abraxis has a boring job taking care of the three suns that orbit Earth Two. So she spends her time and energy writing video games and cloning herself, instead.

President Gorlax of the vicious planet Gortician enlists the aid of mad poet Sherman Oakes to win her heart. Oakes, his longtime chat buddy, lives a life of Plutonian excess as only an intergalactically famous poet can.

Revel in Prail's brilliant game designs as she attempts to uncover the reasons for the original Earth's demise. Hilarity, romance and mayhem ensue.

Warning: Contains several instances of rhyming poetry, some mildly disturbing in nature. Implied female nudity. References to fictional body parts. This book contains adult language and situations. Also, space drugs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thank god this book was free... July 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
because I'd be really pissed if I had actually spent money on it. The book is not awful, just pedantic and really poorly written. Any similarities to Douglas Adams begins and ends with the mention of Sirius Cybernetics.

I gave it one star because it's just not a good book. However, had the writer actually used an editor to remove the preponderance of spelling and grammar errors, and redundant phrasing, I might have given it two stars.

Instead, I deleted it from my kindle to make room for something more worthy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sci-Fi Humour At It's Best February 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
What genre would I place this novel in? Since there's no "super funny" genre, I think I'd have to place it in sci-fi. But I don't normally read sci-fi. However, if there were more books written like Jason Z Christie writes I'd be reading a lot more.

I love how Jason intersperses present day colloquialisms in his writing. And there's always bound to be on of the characters who perpetually get them wrong! I also like how some characters show up in different books. High-C, the drug dealer extraordinaire, was briefly in this one. I'm sitting here, pondering the universe (a much larger universe if you believe what you read in this book) as I eat my freshly delivered Chinese food. In the far off future will we all be ruled by a major corporation? Will the delivery of drugs be as easy as looking in your glove compartment after ordering over the phone?

Jason, where do you come up with this stuff??? It's great! You're fast becoming my favorite author to turn to when I want a good laugh.

3.0 out of 5 stars Alright but vulgar
Good to read something new from Douglas Adams' great universe, but tried too hard to be hip and just comes off as vulgarity for no reason.

2.0 out of 5 stars An intersting idea, but..
The book itself is aweful. The spelling and grammer mistakes are profusive, and the author tries to incorperate hazy knowledge of history that he has no clue about, into the book. Read more

I kept wondering if this was written by a 13 year old (and not in a good way). It could have used another proofreading, for starters - misspellings, wrong names, and the like are... Read more

More About the Author

In the metal underground, he was known as the drummer Jason Gortician. In the goofy world of nerd rap, he was High-C, an influential figure and star of the documentary "Nerdcore for Life". He's also an established inventor and designer of future technology, as evidenced by the 1998 academic paper "Toward Ultimate Reality".

Now he turns his experiences into underground novels full of lurid sex, drugs, and murder. And somehow, comedy.
