5.0 out of 5 stars I hate when...
I hate when I spend $6.00 for a book and read it in under a day! I liked this book! Some of the characters weren't particularly "likeable" (Heath is a jerk!) and Katie, the teen-aged daughter, was a little out of control. The book was a very fast read and the few times I put it down, I couldn't wait to get back to it. It held my interest and was a pleasant...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Mother Is Just Like It Says, PERFECT!, August 29, 2000
This review is from: The Perfect Mother (Paperback)
I recently read Remember September last year and was sooo impressed by Jon Salem. Then a couple days ago while I was browsing in the stores I saw The Perfect Mother. Oh boy, I thought, it's by Jon Salem, so I figured its got to be good. I bought and loved every last word of it. Suspense throughout the entire book. It was about a woman named Georgette who gave her baby away for adoption when she was about 18 and now she wants her back. But now the girl is already 15 and living with a very loving and supportive family. But Georgette wants her "baby" back and she will do anything to get her back, EVEN KILL! Salem is a future Jeffery Deaver in my eyes.

Sharon is put upon, Heath is a philanderer, Liam is adorable, and Katie is troubled by teenage angst. The storyline builds around Georgette's insinuation into the Driver family. She spends big bucks and stacks up some bodies in her quest to reclaim her daughter, but it's all fairly predictable and never really builds up a full head of steam. There's lots of sex, most of it of the male fantasy variety. As a thriller, it simply fell somewhat short.
