The deadly consequences of a simple lie

A father’s attempt to give his child the best future he can sets a family on a tragic and deadly path in this gripping thriller. When Stuart (Christopher Eccleston - Doctor Who, The Second Coming) discovers his ten-year-old daughter has witnessed a knife attack at her school, he and his wife Alison (Susannah Harker - Pride And Prejudice, House Of Cards) decide to do whatever it takes to place their daughter in a high performing Catholic school. Competition between local parents is fierce, so Stuart and Alison lie about their religion to get Lucy in. That apparently simple lie spirals into fraud, blackmail and murder.

Preparing for a tough interview with the school’s principal (Lesley Manville - Vera Drake, Poirot: Cards On The Table), they are introduced to a priest (David Warner - Hornblower, Titanic) who is prepared to verify their story and give Lucy a crash course in Catholicism – for a price. The real cost to the family soon emerges, as Stuart discovers the priest’s dark secret and finds himself in the frame for murder.

This review is from: Perfect Parents (DVD)
Not so perfect parents in a perfect movie. While some might say a lot happens to these people that might seem over the top, everything comes together at the end. The no-subtitles does make it a little difficult to sometimes understand the accents, but over all the movie is easy to follow, if not an easy subject.
