A Perfect Pet for Peyton is such a wonderful book. It not only tells a
wonderful story, but on each page you have search and find pictures.
Like find all of the insects on this page or find all of the animals. This
will really help your child become more observant.
This book is about Peyton and Penny as they celebrate their birthdays
and go to a special place to find a perfect pet. It also is a book to help
you find out which of the 5 love languages your child has. After
reading the book several times there are questions in the back that
will help you to determine which one best suits your child.
The 5 different love languages are:
Gifts
Words of Affirmation
Quality Time
Physical Touch
and Acts of Service.
This book is the perfect size 8 X 10 and has the most colorful,
interesting pictures. Besides being very entertaining it is also very
helpful in learning about your child. It's like a workbook with a
fantastic story to go along with. Your child will only enjoy the story
and not know about the 5 different love languages. I highly
recommend this book. So very interesting.

A Perfect Pet for Peyton, written by the #1 New York Times bestselling author Gary Chapman and Rick Osborne who is an award-winning author of books for kids and teens, have together created a perfect book for children, introducing them to the five love languages. Such as in Gary Chapman's best selling book 'The 5 Love Languages', a book written for adults, the children's book 'A Perfect Pet for Peyton' is a book meant to help children learn the different ways in which we give and receive love. Both authors had great success in creating a great story that is not only intriguing and fun for children, but engaging and full of lessons to be learned.
The book starts with twins Peyton and Penny, as they start their day and head out to with their parents to celebrate their birthday at Mr. Chapman's Perfect Pet Pal Emporium. You and your child will go on to explore the emporium alongside Peyton, Penny and all their friends, visiting all the wonderful animal attractions as well as the interesting animals that they find their. Though a little lengthy for younger children, the book is also full of fun activities to help keep your children engaged in the adventure (also making for a great learning tool as it teaches all the specific names of the different animals in the book). The authors did a great job as well laying out the story so you get to experience the fun adventures first, getting to know Peyton and Penny as well as their friends, and discovering each characters personality as well as clues to their love languages, and then moving on to teaching about the five love languages. They do so by reflecting back on each child and how their behavior throughout their visit can help them to identify their love language.
I found the book to be a great read for me and my children, and look forward to using this as a wonderful tool as my children continue to grow.

A Perfect Pet for Peyton: A 5 Love Languages Discovery Book

Reading books to my children at night is tradition, reading books that they like, well that becomes harder with age. I do have 1 new teenager and one just over the 10 border, but they still love listening to stories with their little brother. We read together because it is family time, it is one secure time of day where we know there are no interruptions and that we can just be. Words envelope our thoughts with visions being created and illustrated in the books we read. What I look for is a book that is interesting, may have pages that allow for interaction and can be read again.
This book allowed us to share thoughts, interact and have a great discussion before, during and after reading it. When I was not able to read the book to my children, my youngest was able to sit there and work on the pages looking for animals, trying to seek and find animals on pages as directed. The pages are absolutely interactive as there are seek and find type material on many of the pages.
There are Five Love Languages that are highlight throughout the book. At the end of the book there is a 'quiz' based on the five love languages. In essence if a child can anchor towards a pet they prefer in the book because their characteristics mimic that animal you might be able to figure out which LOVE LANGUAGE your child identifies with most.
This is a great read for children from K-4th in my opinion.
