Book Description

January 2003
From a million-to-one chance encounter on an airliner, John Lopez, a 29 year old medical salesman, is offered the chance to try out as a batting practice pitcher for the Texas Rangers! For years John has dreamed of pitching in the colors of several Major League Baseball Teams. Perfect Pitch is the story of his thirty year struggle against every temptation to achieve his visions while keeping his family and job secure - without losing his faith. What price will he pay to be the first of his kind to stand on the mound and face some of the greatest Hall of Famers? Baseball fans will experience John's feelings as he pitches to Nolan Ryan, Phil Niekro and Jose Cruz, always aware of honoring his cousin Ben, his Hispanic heritage and eight generations of Texans that are the Lopez family and ancestors. Read by the author, Brendan Guy Alimo, on 2 CD's, 2 hours plus.
