2.0 out of 5 stars I don't know how i felt about this book...
...I wanted to love it. I wanted to like it. But...no. I couldn't connect. None of the characters were memorable. The plot was doing too much. Nothing about the story was realistic. I would have much rather have the author play on the storyline between the sisters more than the demented jewelry mogul. It was too far fetched for me.
I'll try another one.

I was so tired after reading this book from trying to help Zoe and Ben figure out who was trying to destroy Zoe's business to making Zoe and Ben both realize that their relationship was more than a one night stand. I am now ready for the next book involving the awesome Hood family!

4.0 out of 5 stars (3.5 Stars) Good Romance by Carmen Green, October 19, 2009
This review is from: The Perfect Solitaire (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Someone is trying to ruin Zoe McNight's business, Zoe's Jewelry, and the opening of her next two stores. She has been robbed several times. After the last time she is robbed, Zoe enlists Hood Investigation to find out who is trying to sabotage her business. Zoe and co-owner Ben Hood had one mind blowing night of sex which caused Zoe to run from his bed. When she is attacked, Ben declares himself her personal bodyguard. So much for keeping him at a distance. Ben had decided that Zoe is the kind of woman he can settle down with, but Zoe has no desire to be in a relationship...or does she?

The Perfect Solitaire is a good romance with a mix of mystery and action. It also has family betrayal with a surprising twist. The Perfect Solitaire is the first book in the Hood Family series. Green does a good job introducing each Hood family member which helps to pique interest for future books in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Solitair", May 15, 2009
This review is from: The Perfect Solitaire (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Rating 4.5
This was a great book and it is so good to hear from Carmen Green it been a minute and she has been missed.

The Perfect Solitaire is WONDERFUL and once you start reading you will not be able to put the book down. We meet the Hood family and let me tell they are all something else. Tall, Strong, Sense of Family Honor and Good Looking and the sisters are included in this description as well. You will get to meet Ben who is the HERO of this book, his twin Rob yes ladies Twin........baby brother Zach and older sister Alexandria & Amelia the baby sistet oh can't forget he cousin Hugh...who is pretty much quite throught out the book so can't you just see what Carmen will do with his book....the quite one you have to WATCH...........smiling

Zoe McNight is indepentant woman who after been free of a bad marriage for the last six years has seem her dream come to past. For Zoe to have her two store is dreams come true. Now in the process of opening up two more stories she is experiencing some problem at her stores. For some time now Zoe has been robbed several time and is at the point whereshe is tired.

Zoe decided to hire a Hood Private Investigations, Inc.(which is family own) nstead of going to the police. Three month earlier Zoe had the most passion night of her life when she meet Ben Hood and when I say that it pleasure pleasure pleasure for Ben and Zoe believe me. Zoe is so invested in her store and after the bad marriage she had she decided not to fall in love again and build a wall around her heart. Once she saw Ben Hood again all of that went out the window not for one minute did Ben forget Zoe either he always wanted to know why she ran out and never call or return his call and now they will have that time to get to know each other.

For Ben it was all business in the beginning he was there to do a job but once the job was over all bits was off as for as he was concern. Althought Zoe tried her best to forget Ben she couldn't and in the end she learn to trust again.

Carmen has threw is a few surprise that will keep you turning the pages.

Purchase the book you will enjoy it.

Smooches,
Louise

5.0 out of 5 stars The Perfect Summer Read!, June 19, 2009
Perfect Solitaire by Carmen Green is the Perfect Summertime reading material. Ms. Green develops the plot deliberately and thoroughly, yet manages to keep the reader engrossed through to the end this book.

In this latest novel we meet Zoe McNight, a sophisticated jewelry store owner who enlists the assistance of the Hood family who own a Private Investigations firm. Earlier, she had a passionate fling with one of the Hood family members, Ben. Now she is faced with meeting him in an entirely different context. As readers we watch her struggle to maintain professional distance and then follow her as her defenses crumble.

This a passionate, sultry read that is perfect for the Hot Summer Nights!! Enjoy!
