This book offers an excellent story of morality as viewed by a young apprentice accompanied by superb illustrations. Although a period piece, the moral of this story could occur in any situation, in any era.

What a great story. For a moment I felt I was in Japan!!!,

This review is from: The Perfect Sword (Paperback)
I read this book as a prep for my 6-year old daughter's night time reading. Two minutes into reading this book, I felt like I was in ancient Japan watching the story unfold infront of me. The pictures are vivid and the story is simple and heartening. I'm going to look for other books by the same author. I hope he wrote/drew several other books as well.

This books is well written and illustrated, sure to become an instant classic. The backdrop of the book is set in ancient Japan, but the storyline of the book still resonates today. I had a hard time finding this book in stores.
