Author Lisa Plumley pens a delightful contemporary comedy in PERFECT TOGETHER. Plumley's prose sparkles with levity and wit as she adds a fresh twist to the classic prince and pauper switch. Marley's adoption of her sister's clothing, apartment and lifestyle provides amusing conundrums as she attempts to conceal her life as a starlet. Young Noah provides plenty of his own wonderful moments as Jake indulges outrageous clothing choices and lots of love. Readers will find themselves eagerly anticipating the sequel that promises Marley's sister's story as she samples glamour and privilege. The perfect amusing read for summer reading, PERFECT TOGETHER comes very highly recommended.

Sports broadcaster, Jake Jarvis is gorgeous, single and a dad. He tries to discourage women from looking his way because he "has eyes" only for his 4 year old little boy, Noah, and is happy spending all his spare time with him. But it gets hard to ignore the looks and interest of women when his face or/and body starts showing up on billboards and bus signs as the newest sex symbol. This is done to promote the TV sports channel he is on, his boss applies for Jake to be a contestant on a TV reality dating show. Jake is not happy now. It is in the lobby of the dating show that Jake meets "the-girl-next-door want to look like" Carley Madison at the coffee machine. Carley is actually actress Marley Madison who is trying to further her career by proving that she can be a serious actress. Her agent suggested that she change her identity and become a contestant on the dating show to prove her talent on national tv. When producers witness the chemistry between Jake and Carley, they decide to pair them up as a couple. Now the fun begins. Having nothing in common but wanting to be successful (for different reasons), Jake and Carley try to make a go of it. They have to spend so much time together on dates and getting along takes work. But success soon becomes secondary when their hearts get involved.

The story is a lot of fun. There are many tender moments between Jake and Noah that are soooo sweet. Carley who is soooo worldly, has never considered settling down and having a family is faced with realizing this is something she wants. Jake is faced with realizing the emptiness in his and Noah's lives. Silly at times but a great read! A lot of fun!

This book was sent to me by Lisa Plumley herself, it was in my pile of books waiting to be read, I only wish I would have read it soon a very enjoyable read. Marely is an actress but no one is taking her seriously so they have her do this reality game show called Dream Date, they have her as a different person name Carly, at the ending of the last show she will reveal that she is really Marely the actress, she believes when that happens she will get acting jobs. She is paired up with Jake he is a sports caster and if he goes through with this then he can get a high positions. They have gone out on dates and they start to care for one another, Carly starts to learn things about herself that she wouldn't have learned when she was Marley. Jake son Noah is so adorable, he makes you want to give him a big huge. Jack starts to fall in love with Carly, if and when he finds out the whole truth about her how will he react? You just have to read this book, and very enjoyable read :) Thank you Lisa, for introducing us to Marley, Jake and Noah, I look forward on hearing Meredith's story.

Lisa Plumley's latest romantic comedy takes a shot at lampooning the reality date TV-shows with a twist. Jake Jarvis, the sportscaster at KKZP Los Angeles touted as the sex symbol is given a chance to advance his career and further his popularity if only he is willing to participate in Dream Date. He is paired up with Marley Madison, who is a soap-opera actress under an alter-ego "Carly", desperate to reinvent herself as the girl-next-door after being stereotyped by her previous famed role. Marley while role-playing finds her earthy self and falls in love with Jake's single-dad persona. It's a pity that Ms. Plumley doesn't make a wicked hoot out of the reality shows but she stays focused with the romance, creating sizzling chemistry between Jake and Marley through the interaction of Jake's beloved son Noah. It examines what is real in a relationship and brims with enough heart and humor to make Ms. Plumley's latest a perfect breezy read.

"Sometime between going to sleep on a perfectly ordinary Tuesday night and waking up on Wednesday morning, Jake Jarvis became a bona fide sex symbol." With an opening like that, how could I do anything else but read on. Ms. Plumley had me hooked with just two sentences.

Ex ballplayer, turned sportscaster on KKZP-TV in Los Angeles, Jake Jarvis is a single father. His life is in order, he enjoys it, he likes it just the way it is. Then one morning four-year-old Noah bursts into his room, waking him with the news that he'd just been on television. It seems that Sid Spielman, his boss at the station has come up with a new promo idea and it's a doozy. The station is going to promote Jake as the perfect hunk and have him appear on the reality TV show "Dream Date" as, you guessed it, a dream date.

Twenty-seven-year-old actress Marley Madison has just had her sitcom canceled. Marley wants to be taken seriously as an actress, so to prove to the world that she is star material, she remakes herself as Carly and goes on "Dream Date." Her plan is to go on as a sort of plan Jane and at the end of the series to tell the world who she is and what she's done. What a career booster she believes, so with some advice form her plan Jane twin, Marley, now Carly goes on the program and gets paired with Jake.

Marley may have been looking to advance her career and Jake may have been on the program against his will, but together they find something they hadn't even known they'd been searching for and you should search out this book. You won't be disappointed, that I promise.

I really enjoyed this book. So far, it is my favorite Lisa Plumley book. (I've read three including this one.) And I'm looking forward to reading Perfect Switch.

In the beginning, I didn't like Marley at all and throughout the book I had moments where I just found her a bit silly. Like never having to make a bed or being clueless about normal, every day things. I would assume that at some point she lived at home with her twin sister and father or maybe she didn't. But it seemed odd to me that she was so far removed from a normal, everyday life while she was growing up yet Meredith turned out to be so down to earth.

That being said however, Marley did a great job of redeeming herself in the end and obviously grew as a person, which I like to see.

Jake was perfect all the way through. I liked how he struggled with having to share the love of his son with another person, yet knew it was worth it.
The one thing that bothered me about this book though was the relationship between Marley and Meredith. Obviously it was strained and the two had some issues with each other and these were only briefly touched on and never fully resolved even though the sisters seemed closer at the end than at the beginning.

I'm hoping the relationship between the sisters is more fully explored in Perfect Switch. This was a fun, easy read and I recommend it highly.

Marley Madison is an actress who has been having some career difficulties recently. That is until her managment comes up with an interesting idea-go incogneto on a dating show that will hopefully restart her career.

Jake is a single father who is also a very good looking sports reporter for the local news. His boss also wants him to go on the Dating show to pull in some more viewers.

Jake and "Carley" meet the first day for the auditions and even though Marley asked not to be paired with Jake the two are thrown together. The first couple dates do not go so well because the two are opposites Marley is a girly-girl who does not really like kids and Jake is a sports freak.

Things start going well, Marley starts getting intrested in sports and soon after meeting Jakes son the two are fast friends, but just as things are heating up between Jake and "Carley" Jake finds out her secret.

All Jake Jarvis wants besides the love of his four-year-old son Noah, whom he raises by himself, is to be accepted as a serious sports reporter. Instead, his station has started an ad campaign claiming he is Los Angeles' "studliest" sportscaster, a situation that Jake finds embarrassing. When he learns he is a contestant on the Dream Date TV show, he wants to refuse but that is not an option if Noah is to eat.

Actress Marley Madison has been a famous Hollywood star for over two decades, but is now type cast as a sassy, sexy southern belle with her career over at twenty-seven. Her agent suggests she prove she can play other roles by stepping out of character as a girl next door contestant on Blind Date, but not revealing that she exchanged identities with her twin to anyone until she completes the gig.

At the Blind Date studio, Jake and Marley meet over coffee, but though they act like oil and water something simmers between them that the producer notices. They are paired up as a team with no chance of winning as their personalities are so far apart. Still this duo can win a bigger prize than a TV show's award as love enters the mix.

This amusing contemporary romance focuses on opposites attracted to one another. Though Marley's "pauper" switch has been used often and one must wonder how twins were raised so differently (separate households?), the lead female character makes it feel real. The audience will want her and Jarvis to make it and will look forward to the sequel starring her twin in her shoes.
