One way to get some great 80s music that you may not find otherwise is buy buying movie soundtracks. While this movie was far from Perfect, this soundtrack has some great nuggets from Whitney Houston, Jermaine Jackson, the late Dan Hartman, Jermaine Stewart and more.

5.0 out of 5 stars PERFECT ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK, July 25, 2005
This review is from: Perfect (Audio CD)
THIS SOUNDTRACK IS FROM THE FILM STARING JOHN TRAVOLTA & JAMIE LEE CURTIS. IT HAS BRILIANT 80S MUSIC WITH TRACKS FROM JERMAINE JACKSON, POINTER SISTERS, THOMPSON TWINS, WHAM!, DAN HARTMAN, BERLIN, NONA HENDRYX, WHITNEY HOUSTON, LOU REED, JERMAINE STEWART
I HAVE RAITED THIS CD 5 STARS. IT IS WELL WORTH TRACKING DOWN A COPY IF YOU CAN. PRICES ARE NOT CHEAP EXPECT TO PAY AROUND $50-100 DOLLERS. THERE IS ONLY ONE RECORD LABEL FOR THIS ALBUM WHICH IS (ARISTA RECORDS ARCD 8278) BEWARE OF BOTLEG COPIES.

4.0 out of 5 stars Some Rare Tracks, April 24, 2008
This review is from: Perfect (Audio CD)
The " PERFECT " soundtrack CD includes some " gotta have " rarities for me like the POINTER SISTERS " ALL SYSTEMS GO " , a great song sung by Ruth. Considering it's 1985, it must have been recorded around the time of their " CONTACT " CD. Nona Hendryx doing " I SWEAT [ GOIN' THROUGH THE MOTIONS ]" was a R&B and dance hit in 1984. It was the " perfect " workout song for the movie, and I remember the video had Nona tearing off her layers of sweats to reveal more & more . The version here is an edited remix version that's different from the version found on her " THE ART OF DEFENSE " album. The rest of the other songs are almost all exclusive to this CD too. Too bad it only peaked at #45 on the Billboard album charts. I bought this CD back in the 90's as a sealed closeout item for only a few bucks. Now it's a collector's item. Could have been as big as the soundtracks to other 80's films like " BEVERLY HILLS COP ", " FOOTLOOSE " or " TOP GUN " if the film itself had been a bigger hit.
