Didn't expect to like this, wonderfully surprised!!!,

At 1st listen, when I skimmed through the tracks on this disc I'd orignally written this off as poppy cheezeball garbage. After I had a chance to sit & listen through the whole album though I realised how wrong I was. While there are some cringe worthy vocals & lyrics in some areas musically this is album is a master piece. Darren Tate (the man behind the music)has done it again, anyone familiar with "Horizons 01" (Tate's 1st album released a couple years ago) or his various other guises (Jurgen Vries, Orion, Angelic etc.) will have a pretty good idea of his capabilities as a producer. This is beautiful vocal trance made the way it's supposed to be. There are some big names that lend their vocal talents to the album including but Gavin Rossdale (of Bush fame), & Victoria Horn (Dirty Vegas - Days Go By). The album is unmixed & the tracks are all the full extended versions. Also included is a bonus remix album with a who's who of trance producers on board to do their deeds, the bonus disc unlike disc one is premixed. All in all anyone who enjoys ATB, Darude, 4 Strings, & any other pop trance act will love this album guaranteed. If you're like me though & can't normally get in to stuff like that give this album a chance & you'll probably be surprised.

Romance Trance is here,

I have been listening to techno, dance, trance & house for 14 years now and do remember "new romance" sub-genre of the 80's new wave years, for this CD, Perfect World, I tell friends "romance trance" is here. If anyone ever wished to "cross over" from pop to vocal trance, this would be a good place to start with this master production of original work. The first disk is "straight up" album or original versions of Darren Tates work along with some tracks I've not heard and suprisingly, some not included, all excellent work. Simply the best. The second disk are very good club style remixes or remastered tracks, all excellent. For anyone browsing this is not "mixed" set, though it is blended (not stirred) very well and sequentially it all flows and is very smooth together. If you and your lady are hangin' and have had enough chill house mixes... this is a great compilation of original trance that will set the mood for sure. Darren's background as a classical artist comes through clean, dynamic and vibrant. For 2007 my favorite vocal trance track has been and is "Hold Me Till The End" 12" club mix with Alexta on vocals... phenomenal and always fresh. "Destination" (vocals Maria Willson) just cannot be better, so great. Another great surprise is track 8 on the second disk, "Reflections" (Always You)(Corderoy Mix), as this is new to me and it too is exceptional. Sometimes when you buy a CD there is always one track that could have been left out or swapped for something better, not the case here, all tracks stand on their own and are perfection. A true trance masterpiece, no, not a hardcore club trance selection, but plenty of electronic, symphonic and vocal elements to always keep you happy.

A passionate musical journey!,

I'm fairly new to trance music, but think Perfect World must be one of the top two or three "must have" trance albums of the past fifteen years, alongside OceanLab's Sirens Of The Sea Remixed. Perfect World is a stunning emotional journey, featuring guest vocalists (all excellent), including Gavin Rossdale (from Bush), Alexta, Maria Willson, Andrea Britton, Nicolai Prowse and acclaimed West African (Guinean) singer Mory Kante. This album features moderate dance tempos, over which are vocals and electronic sounds that are far more dreamy and ethereal than harsh and clangy, especially on Disc 1. The female singers are superb throughout. Disc One is the album mixes, which fade out and in, while Disc 2 is remixes "club mixed" together for an uninterrupted dance beat and somewhat more of an active, "high energy" feel than the sonic waves of dreaminess often found on Disc 1. The "dreamy" feel is especially pronounced on Disc 1 tracks, especially Hold Me Till The End, Succumb To The Night, Reflections and Winter, all with pronounced buildups and breakdowns with shimmering waves of keyboards that wash over the listener in a tidal wave of emotion. Winter is perhaps the most stunning track on the album, with lyrics about the winter season that chill you to your bone marrow, spine-tingling vocals by Andrea Britton, and descending keyboard riffs that suggest falling snowflakes. This is THE song to listen to for walking or other outside activities in any place and time where there is deep snow cover on the ground, especially on a sunny day. Hold Me Till The End is a similar style to Winter. Another standout Disc 1 track with a notably different feel is Narama, which has a distinctively "world music" sound (with a West African influence, thanks to Mory Kante), over an understated but strikingly energetic beat.
Disc 2 contains club versions, mixed together into one continuous dance marathon. Tempos are faster, and electronic sounds tend to be somewhat more aggressive - perhaps fitting for a club setting, but still not overly harsh. I find the standout track on Disc 2 to be Destination (Above and Beyond remix), with beautiful female vocals, great breakdowns and buildups and a strong bass line that comes in off the beat for a very driving, rhythmic sonic effect. Each disc is nearly 80 minutes of music. If you can only buy one trance album this year, THIS is the one to get!

I have to say this is one of the best trance albums ever made. This is one of the few trance albums where I loved every single track on it. Yeah there are some big names providing vocals on this album, but the most beautiful vocals comes from Alexta. Hold Me Till The End, Tomorrow Never Comes, and Falling (also featuring Gavin Rossdale) are the best tracks on the album in my opinion. If you are a fan of trance or want to know what great uplifting trance is all about, get this album! It is highly recommended.

The first cd is awesome and gets me thru work. The second cd has some pretty good mixes however, I've always been a fan of originals. You can't find this in any cd store. You'll have to order it online.

Best vocal trance around,

This is by far the best vocal trance album I have heard in along time. I am a huge fan of electronica, DnB, and many other styles of techno. I am very picky about what I listen to, and this one gets my seal of approval. I highly recommend it especially if you are a fan of Armin van Buuren.

This will be the first CD that I have bought since Madonna: Confessions on a dance floor in late 2005. Why? because this is probably the best electronica CD I've ever heard...yes ever! 'Winter' is perhaps my most favorite song ever as well. Also, its a new project and I want to support them, and hope they release something else in the future... BUY IT!!!
