Book Description

Carol and Tammy Long have fought a constant battle with their weight all their lives. When a stranger on the television offers an amazing new diet plan with a weight loss success rate of 100 percent, Tammy feels like it was an answer to their prayers.

As the pair ventures off to the Verde Valley Weight Loss Clinic things start to take a darker turn. The owner Kathy Black gives them a new take on the classic idea of perfection.

Now, placed in a medical facility where they are constantly monitored, the women learn there is something wrong with perfection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection isn't always perfect!!! December 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
EVVVIIILLLLL I say!!! Pure EVVVVIIILLLLL! Okay, well, maybe that was a bit corny at an attempt to be cool. Hey, what can I say? I'm not perfect. Hehehehe. See that? I took another jab at trying to be "cool" in my review of Andre's Perfection. Okay, okay. No need to roll your eyes. I'm getting to the part where I tell you that this book was AWFUL. Yup. AWFUL. AWFULLY FANTASTICALLY HORRIFYINGLY GREATNESS! See? I did it again! MUAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Seriously now. I'll stop. After all, it IS Christmas Eve, a time for joy and not hate, which you all probably are at that point now..... and I want to get to the point where I tell you that this is another awesome short story for your Kindle (or your Kindle loving friends!) this season. No, it's not the Christmas theme, but it's a great story all the same. Carol and Tammy are overweight (boy can I relate to them! ;-) ), and seeing an advertisement on TV (curse you, TV ads!) decide to take the plunge and visit a clinic to help them loose weight. After all, being overweight means your imperfect, right? RIGHT? Because, if that's the case well then.....oh sorry. My mind drifted again.

Anyways, GET THIS STORY! Once you follow Carol and Tammy to the clinic, you'll see why this is horrific! With twists and turns and complete eeriness, well, this is one story that will have you thanking your lucky stars that your NOT Carol or Tammy......and that you're not perfect! Perfection comes with a price....one you won't want to put pay!

Definitely recommended! Five Books worthy and a million times over on my high recommendations list, this author knows his stuff! Complete with Andre's trademark humor, this is one story that shouldn't be missed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfection March 27, 2012
By Megan
Format:Kindle Edition
This story sent shivers up my spine and so many parts shocked me! The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because some of it seemed forced and not well explained. The ending left me wanting to read the next book, because it just leaves you hanging as to what happens.

A word of caution to people (like me) who don't like to have swearing in their books, this story has some cussing in it. I know that a lot of people do use language like this and just because I don't like it, I wouldn't feel right in giving it a lesser rating because of it. However, if every other word would have been a swear word, that would have been a different story.

A really enjoyable short story and I recommend it!

***I received a complimentary copy of this book to review. I was asked to give my honest opinion of the book - which I have done.***

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection - Is it all it's cracked up to be? March 1, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh my! Here I was thinking the story would take things in a certain direction...Boy was I wrong (but not disappointed). This short story was filled with feeling and visual description. I could see the Long sisters as they bickered and prepared to try yet another method of losing weight. I stumbled with them through the house. I couldn't help but feel their pain and the fear of hoping for a successful diet plan.

I got a clear picture of the atmosphere at the center as the sisters arrived. Everything was in its place - the perfect diet center. Wow. All I can say is that I never saw the twist coming!

Joel writes in an amazingly morbid, dark way that leaves me cringing and yet unable to stop reading. His ability to bring the reader into his stories is fine-tuned. Can you say he has the talent of Alfred Hitchcock? Stephen King? Yes!

Perfection is a story that can be read by Adult and teen alike. (Be aware that it is violent.) It is a suspenseful tale of perception and preconceived notions being twisted away from reality and into something new and dark. Try it. You may never diet again...or you may find the strength to go it on your own. You definitely come away wondering just what is perfection.

Thanks for the chills and thrills, Joel. You did it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars A dramatic, Twisted, Violent Tale September 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This tale caught me as dark and twisted, I thoroughly enjoyed the read.
Tammy and carol are overweight; their inactivity has caused them to become lazy. A TV commercial captures the eye of Carol who is incredibly naive and is sincere about losing weight. Tammy who is definitely more down to earth tries to talk Carol out of going to the weight clinic advertised on TV only to find themselves entering the small town and directly into the pathway of the clinic.
The real fun starts, the clinic direct behavioural correction to the two women, and the gruesome bloodied scenes begin leaving the reader with no doubt of the writer's intention to send a pure chill down your spine.

This tale has so many twists in the storyline; the violence is well written and very descriptive along with the well-written details characterisation. I absolutely loved it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very different type of story May 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Right away the reader feels close to the victims and when they go through their scary ride into weight loss, you feel like you are right there with them. This book is very different from any I have read. The plot and characters really pulled you in and you can't put the book down! It is very graphic and violent, but that is a plus for me!
