This book is one of the best I have ever read.
It's about Larkin family. Pop and Ma, as everybody calls them, are the head of the family. They have 6 or 7 (even they don't know how many) very interesting children that have already started to follow their own steps. The story begins when Mariette (the oldest) thinks that she's pregnant and has to find someone to marry. And who might be better then the shy, a little confused young tax collector that was sent their house by his office to hand them the written order for tax assessment. |
