This chill pad is nothing of what I expected it to be.
It is EXTREMELY light weight.
However, with three fans it kept my laptop VERY cool
and having four extra USB ports don't hurt either.

I liked this product. When I first got it it worked great. Now having it a month or so it's a little louder thats the only downside to it. But it never shuts off or freezes up on me. It was a lot better then the fam I last had!

I bought this product for my Toshiba M305D-S4831 Satellite Notebook.
My notebook turned into a Oven about 2 months back and started generating tremendous heat during normal operations as well.
For instance it used to Turn itself OFF during even running simple java programs.
So I decided to get a Laptop Cooler and I took this one.
For the price I paid this is definitely a 5 Star item.
It works perfectly, fits right to the size and doesn't really creates too much noise (So far )

Only downside I would say about this is the USB hub provided is not exactly a USB 2.0 Hub.

Apart from that one should definitely go for this product if the notebook is generating too much of heat.

I bought this late last year and found the 4 usb ports are very handy and the 3 fans worked fine in cooling my laptop, now I find that one of the fans makes a noise when it 1st starts, but it goes silent in a short time.USB Notebook Cooler / Cooling Pad! 3 Fans for Laptops. Powered from USB port!

This thing is absolute crap! Never mind the USB hubs and the poor reviews for that, I didn't even buy this for the hub but for the cooling, which was said to do a decent job in other reviews. This thing made my computer shut down because it can't get any air! It's better off with nothing at all.

Let me explain just a bit. This "cooling pad" is completely flat and has nothing to raise the computer, creating an almost perfect seal for the vents under your computer. Secondly, the fans do not blow air onto the computer, they suck air away from it. My computer tries to cool itself with several slit vents underneath. Additionally, it has a fan that pulls air through these vents, through the computer, across the heatsink attached to the processor and exits out the back. So now I have one fan trying to pull air from the bottom of the computer to cool it and three fans pulling air in the opposite direction. Who do you think wins this battle? Please don't curse your computer by buying this product.

As for cooling my laptop, It does the job very well. But I also bought this because I wanted the extra USB ports, which do not handle certain items that require higher speeds, or as my Logitech customer service rep explained to me: "greater bandwith". The USB ports do not work at all with my Logitech cordless mouse & keyboard, or my Logitech speakers. While the USB ports do work for syncing my iPod, the sync is mega slow. If you are syncing a video, it's even slower. I now have 4 extra USB ports that do not do anything that I originally wanted them to do. If you are just buying this to cool your laptop, then this is a deal. It certainly cools my laptop well. But if you are expecting anything useful out of these USB ports outside of plugging in your flash drive, you may be very disappointed in this cooling pad. One more thing I might add that could be an annoyance is that this cooling pad has 3 big and annoyingly bright LED lights on the front. They would look more at home on my Christmas tree. The on/off switch, which is in the front next to the annoyingly bright LED lights, is very small and stiff to operate. You could rip your fingernail clean off trying to use this switch. Hey, but it cools great! That is if you don't mind being blinded and having chipped fingernails and 4 USB ports that are of little use for anything.

I ordered this cooling pad because the price was reasonable and it had 3 fans. I thought because of the 3 fans it would work great. Well the whole unit started getting louder and the fans only work half the time. Even when it was new it didn't cool very well. Makes horrible sounds when the fans do work. Also the plug in port for the power is worn out after only 4 months. It sits in one spot I am the only one living in my household so I don't understand how that wore out so quick. I have to keep the cord propped up so that it stays plugged into the cooling pad. I looked at the reviews on this product before I bought it and since it had mixed reviews, good and bad, thought I would give it a try. What a waste of money. By another product, stay away from this so called "high performance cooling fan"! It is a very poor quality product.

I wasn't expecting much when I bought the cooling pad. However when I set it up underneath my Toshiba Laptop I noticed less overheating right away. The cooling pad is smaller than my Toshiba but I am satisfied with it. The cooling pad is doing a remarkable job. I think one of the problems with my Toshiba was overheating because I have checked and I have no viruses. When it was too hot it would freeze up and stop working but I hoping this fixes the problem. Guess we will have to see.

I will update this post a couple months later.

Overall, for the price, this item is not that bad. Actually cooling down my system. However there are a few problems that made using it a hassle.

1. USB ports on my laptop are on the right and the connection to the device is on the left. This is a problem because the included cord is short and doesnt reach from one end of my device to the other. My solution was to use my phones usb charger to power the unit instead.

2. The ring around the fan vent is weak and it keep bending into the fan (causing a grinding sound). Solution, just straighten it out.

3. Mat fans are nowhere near my vents. So not doing as much as it could

Dissappointed in this product. The fact that the base of it is silver and metal where the computer has to rest is not practical. And just after a month it is already noisy. It gets just as heated as my laptop. NO HELP!!
