This review is from: High Performance Computing in Structural Engineering (Computer Aided Engineering) (Hardcover)
The intended audience for this book are people engaged in writing finite element software for large structures. Some background in numerical analysis and scientific computing required. I would love to teach a graduate course based on some of the information in this book. If you only use software and have no intention of writing it, then this book will not benefit you much.

This is a great source book to get a quick entry into the fascinating world of optimization and modeling of complex structures. The book introduces the ideas with the help of very good illustrations and motivates the topic in a logical and coherent fashion. The book treats state of the art topics like parallel vector computation with elegance and clarity. I would recommend this to any engineer with curiosity and most certainly structural engineering professionals. Any engineer can learn from the book how to analyze complex systems.
