Author Lisa Dorfman, M.S., R.D., C.S.S.D., Sports Nutritionist for the University of Miami Athletic Department and Director of Sports Nutrition & Performance in the Department of Sports Medicine at the University of Miami, has worked with hundreds of athletes and been a personal nutritionist for many NFL players. You are what you eat isn't just said to be cute. "Performance Nutrition for Football" discusses how diet proves to be an important edge in the game of football and other sports. Players need to stay fit but emphasize building muscle for speed, power, and athleticism. Drawing on advice from long time NFL veterans, and author Lisa Dorfman's own heavy influences in nutrition, "Performance Nutrition for Football" is a must for any future football hopeful or any future athlete as well.

This lady obviously knows her subject. I bought this for my young grandson and he is slowly coming around to the nutriion side of his chosen sport of football in highschool. His mother even organized weekly pre-game menus along with several other mothers of team members based on some of the information. All the guys show up for it. Maybe I should buy one for the coaching staff.I also found her charts useful, such as BMI's and other stuff. It's written pretty much in laymen's terms but it's a lot to absorb. I'd recommend it to any parent with kids in sports, it could help them get better and have an edge on the other teams.
