This stuff is really cool. I dipped my entire car the other day, and it only took 1 day for the whole project. For anyone wondering how many cans I used, I purchased 14 cans, but only ended up using 11 (Honda Accord coupe). If you are using these to dip a large area (a car for example), I strongly recommend using a paint can trigger to save your fingers.

This is a temporary fix for some rough paint spots on my trunk until I get some more cash. The matte black looks pretty cool.

So, the original use of this wonder product was dipping tool handles (uncoated ones of course) so that you have a rubber grip on your tools that otherwise did not have them. It works EXCELLENT for that. I have done a few of my tool handles. However, the recent craze with this stuff is automative applications. I have seen it used on everything from bumpers, roll cages, rims/wheels, interior parts, even on the entire car! The reason? Cheap and effect way to change the appearance, if you don't like it, then peel it off. Literally! Four to six coats of this stuff on any surface (be sure to clean the area first) and let it dry 15 mins or so between coats. The finish is a bit rough, I am sure with better practice it can be smoother. Don't like how it turned out, or change your mind months down the line? Ok, PEEL IT OFF! It's awesome, it all comes off very easily with no damage to what was sprayed over. After seeing and hearing of the many uses, I decided to try it out. I ended up "dipping" two emblems on a car, and various chrome peices on my motorcycle that I would prefer to have black. So far, so good! Apparently the heat tolerance on this stuff is about 300 degrees so it should be good to go on many applications. I even did a test first and sure it enough, it peels off with no issues. However, while it does peel off easy, it doesn't just come off. Unless you intend to remove it, the coating is there for good. Washing, soaping, etc, even with a pressure washer and this stuff stays on until you purposely dig at it and start the peeling process. HIGHLY recommended!

I was trying to black out my car. Not a huge chrome fan and my car is black. I wanted that sinister look but the cost to replace my stock parts with aftermarket black parts was just to expensive and time consuming. Then I started reading about Plasti Dip. I seemed too good to be true. Spray in on any surface and it will stick yet peel off easily? I watched a lot of videos and decided to give it a try. I started small by just doing the chrome trim pieces on my fenders. About 30 minutes prep time and 5 coats later, my side vents were exactly what I was looking for. The following week I did the chrome window trim and the week after I did my upper and lower from grilles. The results are amazing. I did make a mistake on the chrome window trim and simply rolled up a corner, and peeled it off in one piece easily. Total to black out my whole car, about 65 dollars in total. 55 for the 5 cans of Plasti Dip (I have 2 full cans left)a and 10 bucks for painters tape and masking paper. Total time was about 4 hours.

Product is not being used for normal usage. This product is awesome for soles on knitted socks to prevent slipping.

I bought this to recolor the interior of my car, unsure of what I needed to actually do the job. Then unsure of what to expect coming out of the can, I tested a few sprays of this on an ordinary plastic bottle, figuring plastic has to be one of the harder surfaces to adhere to. The end effect was beautiful! Great coverage in only two coats (on the actual door), moderate odor, dries very fast regardless of the heat or cold (I ended up doing this in the cold at 38F outside)and dries looking like actual vinyl.

After the surface was dried, I decided to test the dried result: scratching it with my nails, with sandpaper and the scrub side of a kitchen sponge, and the paint stands up extremely well! Yes, with enough elbow grease in scrubbing the sprayed WILL pull apart, but that's more than everyday wear and tear on a car door will ever apply.

One car door done, definitely ordering more for the rest! Much better than I thought it would be.

Plastic Dip Intl. 11209 Plasti-Dip Spray

I purchased this product for my wife. She was looking for a clear product to waterproof one side of felted yarn drink coasters. I had read about this product and thought it just might work for her. The Plasti Dip Aerosol Spray was the perfect for her needs. The dip product is primarily made for use on tools. It comes in a variety of colors, so it not only makes the grip better on the tool but can make the tool easier to find. It was actually difficult to find in the clear aerosol; since so much is sold in bright colors in auto parts stores. I would have thought that every yarn shop in the country would have this product in stock. If you have the right use, this is the perfect product. Oh, and, if you have never found a drink coaster that really, truly works, my wife's coaster is by far and away the best coaster I have ever used. Honestly, these waterproofed yarn felted coasters really, really work.

This is one of the greatest invention ever. I painted the front bumper and the grill with it. You can see the difference for yourself. It's strong and it lasts well, even through the car wash with all the brushes.
