This review is from: Pergolese: Stabat Mater (Audio CD)
Discovered this music or rather rediscovered Stabat Mater by Pergolese on the radio while driving home from work. Not knowing which to choose from, I bought several by Pergolese and one by Vivaldi. Wish I could buy even more of this beautiful work. I believe I enjoy all the different recordings equally, and, for different reasons. I have to say this recording, however, stands out for its vocal interpretations and the warmth and comfort it provides. Not austere and distant; rather rich in sound and with an engrossing emotional context. If you decide to buy only one, this is it.
