5.0 out of 5 stars Not much to say-Rufio is great
Rufio is a GREAT band. They're not to incredibly well known, but outstanding just the same. If you're into punk, emo, or skater punk, this is a must have. Their guitarist is extremely talented at his instrument, and the catchy songs stay in your head all day long. And the band has done a great job of really mixing up the songs...you don't have say, 12 songs that all sound...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but nothing special
This is yet another CD I bought without hearing any of the songs. I was not very impressed, only because every song sounds exactely the same. But the singer does have a very good voice, which carries out this CD. The stand out track for me was probably "Raining in september/Road to recovery". But if you want a CD that sounds all the same (But alot better than...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than NFG, September 6, 2001

This review is from: Perhaps I Suppose... (Audio CD)
Oh, i can't even tell you how great this CD is, seriously. You can listen to the whole CD without skipping any tracks, all of the songs are catchy and great. Great lyrics, great sound. I don't know why everyone says they sound like New Found Glory. Rufio is better and their sound is more original. Don't get me wrong, I love NFG, but i love Rufio even more. If you like pop punk/emo type stuff, you'll love this BUY IT!! Even if you're not into this type of music, you'll like it cuz it's that good. I've seen them live a few times, and they're awesome live. I love all sorts of local so cal bands, and i must say that these guys definitely stand out. Get it, you won't be sorry. Trust me.

5.0 out of 5 stars guilty pleasure, July 3, 2004
This review is from: Perhaps I Suppose... (Audio CD)
I take pride in liking a lot of different kinds of music, from sixties/seventies/eighties/ rock, to rock from today. This CD, although it has an element of something we seem to all have heard before in other punk bands, is original stuff. The way they incorporate the bass guitar is so cool and i love it. This music, however poppish it is, is quite amazing, and songs like the awesome road to recovery really capture emotions I know I've experienced. This CD is a great CD to listen to while in a happy mood, or an angry or thoughtful mood. Great stuff! It might not be for everyone... but it is for me at least.

This band, is what the punk scene needs, lil punk mixed wit a lil pop. I was first introduced to this band when a friend of mines played "Above me" and it reminded me of my girlfriend and right then and there i was HOOKED!!

Everyone of their songs are very catchy and each of the instruments will make you hooked because this band makes some great riffs and are catchy. I still say this album is better than their newer album "1985" and this is one of the CDs that you could listen to nonstop without ever hittin skip.

5.0 out of 5 stars best band ever!!!, December 17, 2003
By
This review is from: Perhaps I Suppose... (Audio CD)
i've listened to a lot of punk and punk/pop bands and this is by far the best one. i first heard 1 slowdance and thought it was the cutest song ever. then i heard she cries and kind of thought scott's voice was a bit annoying but i listened to more of rufio's songs and loved them! i bought the cd and listen to it all the time! the best song is road to recovery. i can relate to it so it made me a bit teary eyed, but it's a great song. the cd comes w/lyrics for all the songs, so if u cant understand scott u can look at the lyrics. and that's one of the best parts of the cd, the lyrics. they r so emotional and i can relate to a lot of them and i'm sure u will too. go buy the cd now if u haven't. yes u, go now!

also get:matchbook romance (2nd best band), brand new, yellowcard, starting line, tsunami bomb, something corporate, and vans warped tour 2003<--that's actually the best cd i can think of so u need to buy that, so if u have enough money, which i highly doubt, go buy all of those;)

4.0 out of 5 stars Rufio - Perhaps I Suppose, April 13, 2003

A high speed, incredibly technical shot in the arm to the current pop punk and emo scene. After a brief listen, many people might simply come to the conclusion that Rufio is simply another New Found Glory, but anyone who really gives Rufio a chance will be in for a great surprise. Sure, the two bands share a great deal of vocal similarities, but that is about where it ends. Rufios sound springs forth at a nearly unprecedented speed, with guitar riffing so wickedly technical, it almost borders on metal, yet they never lose their melodic style. To top that off, this album isnt a broken hearted sob fest over the singers lost love, there is some truly deep and serious subject matter touched upon on this disc, and it is all handled in a mature manner. Stop Whining deals with someone who is contemplating suicide, and the song Save The World offers a very strong and intelligent opinion on those who really push the envelope on organized religion. Of course you will have your lovesick anthems like One Slowdance and the most truly emo track on the album, Tears. The album concludes with The Wrath, an all out instrumental metal fest, where lead guitarist, Clark, has a chance to show his speed and ability. This is one of those bands who truly do deserve the success that Im sure this album will bring them. 8/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Rufio RULZ like a MOTHER $&@#*$, June 9, 2002

I was like "who the [heck] is Rufio?" when i stumbled upon one of their songs on WinMX. I ended up getting "above me" and i was amazed at the awesome guitar part and it's energy. So i got all of the songs and it's awesome. They have an amazing basist, a kick [butt] guitarist, and a respectable drummer. Not to mention their singer actually sings good for punk and the songs are good overall. Get this cd. IT's awesome. Plus the more ppl that buy it, the more money they'll get so they can make another one. or sumthin like that. buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Diamond in the Rough, January 27, 2003
This review is from: Perhaps I Suppose... (Audio CD)
Lately it's been hard to find a pop-punk band that isn't a spawn of Blink182 and has more to sing about then high school and girls but Rufio definetly has an awesome style and sound which makes them stand out from generic pop punk bands such as Mest and Good Charlotte! The songs on this track are all diverse so you're able to let the whole CD play all the way through without getting annoyed. Aside from being awesome musicians, Rufio are awesome performers! I've seem them everytime they've been to Miami and they always rock the house! Plus, I've gotten to meet them all several times and they're really nice guys. So to make this review short...Rufio blew me away when I first heard them and I guarantee that you'll be as impressed with them as I was!
