This music is contagious, his voice in incredible and the duet with him and John Denver (perhaps love) is wonderful.. "He couldn't love you more" is a gorgeous song.."Sometimes a day goes bye" I have been singing it for days... GEt this CD you wont regret it.

I think of this album as Eclectic Operatic Ballads. This is one of the least recognized recordings of Placido Domingo I have noticed and yet it is truly a creative brilliance of combinations.

The songs are not operas, and yet sung as if they were. His voice ranges from a whisper of words to full encompassing passion at his highest range, all within a line of one song. And who would have thought to pair an opera singer with John Denver??
Their contrast of voices compliments while still maintaining a very strong sense of manliness.

I first heard this album at 9 years old. It was as impressionable to my heart then, as it is now. Fully Heartwrenching, If you have never loved, you will feel as if you had~ If you Have loved, you will remember all the beauty and tragedy of emotion that it can bring to your heart.

"Perhaps Love", "He Couldn't Love You More" and "To Love" are my favorites. It is as if I am glimpsing into the soul of a man in love! And let me tell you, it causes a twisting of emotion inside of you that cannot be controlled. It is completely without restraint and dominately passionate.
You want to fly to your lovers arms with whispers of forever and gratitude.

I have other recordings of his work, they are wonderful for background music in lovely dinner parties and for reading by.
This album demands your full attention. You are bound to be entranced from the first moments.

I finally found it!!!! I once had the tape, but lost it, and ever since I've been looking for it at local stores, with no luck. All the songs are beautiful, they elevate your spirit and make you really FEEL and EXPERIENCE LOVE!!! It is just amazing how it can make you feel in Heaven! The more I listen to it, the more I feel my heart is about to explode!! Please, people, give it a try, listen to the sample songs, and you'll surely buy it!!!!! It is magnificent!

Before my wife and I were married in 1984, she asked our church music director to recommend music for a friend of hers to sing at the wedding. He asked her if she preferred religious or secular music. Since she was open to either, he said the he had recently bought the album "Perhaps Love" and he loved the music. He especially recommended two songs - "Perhaps Love" and "My Treasure." Everyone at the wedding loved the music, and these are still two of our favorite songs.

We've worn out two casette tapes, so I recently ordered the CD.

If you haven't heard the album, it probably seems like a weird combination of voices and styles, but it actually works incredibly well. If you like love songs, I can't imagine not liking this.

I was at a Grieving Class when I first heard this absolutely beautiful music. I had lost my husband of 58 years, one year earlier. I missed him terribly. The words in all of this music were singing to me. The tears were very healing and continue to heal as I listen to this music with Placido Domingo and John Denver. It has HEART. I want more of the romantic voice and passion of Placido Domingo.

Bought this as a funeral gift. The receiver loves opera music and "Perhaps Love" is a reminder of a loved one lost. He enjoyed it - as this is an unusual gift as opposed to flowers - for someone who had everything - but lost his "everything"

Perhaps Love - the song is touching and quite beautiful. The combination of John Denver and Placido Domingo is not obvious, but they make beautiful music together. The entire CD is excellent and one of my favorites, but I do tend to play "Perhaps Love" over and over. I work for hospice and our chaplain chose that song to use during one of our memorial services. Lovely

I listened to this cassette in 1981 and loved it - I lost it in a gazillion moves since then but found it here. And I still love it.

I forget about the Gold Box deal we subscribers to Amazon have but now and then flip through it and today it was a bonanza! I, too, like a couple of your other reviewers, had this tape more than 20 years ago and loved it but lost it in a couple of moves. What a delight to discover it again. It brings back a lot of memories and Placido with John Denver is an incomparable combination. And I got it at a great price too. A double delight to be sure.

The first three songs are great, the words, music, his voice. It was weird listening him singing in English but I didn't have hard time getting used to it. He is missing the 5th star because of the song 'Yesterday', I didn't like it. The rest is perfect. Best to listen with your girdlfriend at a special night.
