This isn't the Peri Peri I had in Portugal that made me buy this, but it's a very good hot sauce.

Had this when I visited Portugal years ago and it's incredible. When I found it for sale on Amazon I was very excited. After several weeks of not receiving it I contacted the seller to enquire about the delivery. The response was very quick and professional. He said it was probably stuck in customs and to give it another week and if I still didn't get it we would go from there. A few days later I found out the manager at my apartment complex had signed for it weeks ago and never told me. It came in great condition and tastes great! I would definitely buy from this seller again!

We found this hot sauce living out of country and I'm such a fan, and I'm not huge on hot sauce. Couldn't find it in store anywhere when we got back to the states and I'm so surprised at how quickly it arrived in the mail. Got two larger bottles and I put it on everything! Eggs, quesadillas, a drop or two in tomato sauce. Love.

I first tried this at a Portuguese restaurant and loved how the flavor added to the meal. It even transformed rice and black beans into a treat.

In the title I claimed that this is relatively mild, but that is a subjective term. The closest familiar (in the US market) hot sauce that this comes to with respect to heat is Tabasco sauce. Use that comparison as a gauge because it is about on that level.

Where this dramatically differs from Tabasco is that sauce has a strong vinegar base that I personally dislike. This one, though, imparts a completely different flavor. To be sure, it is salty with a little over four grams of salt per serving. That is really a nominal amount of salt that should not conflict with any diets restricting sodium. The ingredients are 45% peppers, with water, salt and vegetable oil as the primary ingredients. The vegetable oil varies, but palm oil is often used in the recipe.

Although I love spicier sauces, the flavor of this one appeals to me and I have a bottle in my pantry because it does lend an authentic flavor to Portuguese cuisine.

I fell in love with this brand of piri piri sauce when I was in Portugal last year, and the few bottles I brought home with me to LA didn't last long. It's so wonderfully spicy and delicious. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon, and now I order in bulk!

This product was shipped from Madeira, a surprise for me, but it is the real thing and is lovely. A bit dear, but if you must have genuine piri-piri, this is it.

It is god, but no better than a lot of other hot sauces. I guess Louisana just fits my taste buds.
