Peril over the airport (Vicki Barr flight stewardess series)

Vicki Barr, flight stewardess,want-to-be pilot, and detective. Well, that last part is only because she can't keep her nose out of other people's business. On one hand it is funny to see what life was like, or what people thought life was like, from their own point of view. Yet would Vicki's father really be upset about her wanting to be a pilot when she spends all her time in aircraft? Isn't it dangerous either way?
Would a guy who went AWOL, killed an officer, and the officer's whole family, really get away with it and not be hunted down?
Were airports THAT easy to run? Were aircraft that easy to fly? Were people ever this simple?
BTW, I got my book, good condition without the dustcover, for [...] dollars, so you may wish to look around old bookstores before coughing up more than [...] bucks for a copy.
